Samsung 850 EVO firmware update (EMT02B6Q)

I'm not seeing any firmware update for my 850 Evo in Samsung Magician 4.7.

My current firmware is EMT01B6Q (which is the same firmware I received it with, never updated).

What I did find, though, was that Magician 4.6 wasn't prompting me to update to 4.7, I had to find that on Samsung's site.

 

Where you able to find the new firmware update (EMT02B6Q) in Magician once you had installed v4.7 or do you think they removed it all together?

 

The EMT02B6Q firmware is what my 850 Evo had on it from the factory, so I couldn't answer your question.

SSD was ordered in January of this year though.

They have released an updated version of Data Migration Software.

RAPID Mode remains incompatible with Windows 10 and there's currently no update available.

Update the software by actually using the Magician software. It will take you to a site that does not have that silly restriction. Just click on that Download S/W and Manual button.

Dont download. If EMT01B6Q working, dont fix it.

 

well, i plan to do a new install of linux, so i would like to flash an empty ssd in order to minimize eventual problems. that is why i am waiting for this new firmware to appear as an iso download.

unfortunately, there is no changelog to be found either, but samsung does not come up with a new firmware for nothing...

 

I updated to 4.8 then enabled rapid mode 3 days later hard drive corrupted and kaput so I would be wary with rapid mode...that and in real life terms and all the tests I ran it did snaffall nothing for performance

 

and which fw is installed?

 

just did the firmware update through magician 4.9 with win10. all went ok. i did it bc getting some slow down at startup and shutdown. did not improve any thing thouhg. might be win10 is crap. same setup with win8.1 were fast. thinking of switching back to 8.1.
