I def buy this game. Im so stunned for it, cant wait. Im a huge TW Series Fan and played every TW game so far. And ofc, Rome was the best one (like many others think, too), but medieval was also nice But it dont like Shogun in TW.
Don't preorder unless you can get refund from the seller. Most you will lose out is like, $3~5 worth of DLC fluff that aren't even all that pertinent to meat of the game.

Minimum, a single core processor? Seriously .. they should be making dual cores the minimum especially considering how dependent this series is on the CPU. I doubt they'll be doing much, if any, quad core optimization.
hence why it's going to be very unlikely I pre-order unless I can find it for around £20. steam has rome2 for £45 atm... p.s and sry blesner i dont agree. total wars are no longer an instant buy for me, badly optimised engines and launch fiasco's plus the fact mods seem to be the only way I eventually enjoy the games. vanilla game for me generally sucks as is lacking in units with bad a.i + strategic flaws. (i.e needs balancing).
They are using the same engine as Shogun 2 TW IIRC, which is now quite mature and refined. Huh? Do share. Hmmm, IMO it has been the period or setting that has been a problem. The devs have gone on record by saying this will be the most "unit" diverse TW game they have ever made. I can find the link if you wish. Rome and Medieval have always been my favorites and the unit diversity has always been great. Yeah but they usually sort it out 3 months down the line, always been an issue in TW games from around Rome 1. Still no excuse for me buying the game day 1. Still loads of fun.
ugh where do i start? empire - buggy mess at launch. needed several patches. darthmod eventually meant hrs of fun. napoleon fine at launch but was basically a refined version of empire. again couldnt play this until darthnap btw darthmod added hundreds of extra units/fixes/arty enhancements etc etc shogun2 missing aa and dx11 at launch. fots - laggy campaign map (same for empire+shogun2). plus to top it all off it's 1 core game and we are in 2013!!! also there is the huge dlc arguement where they are selling dlc which is basically content already present in the game but you are paying for a simple text file unlock in the majority of cases (milking?). plus with rome 2 we have pre-order already (it's "free" dlc day one but only if you preorder) and nobody knows diddly squat really about the game and it's launch is in september. pre-order right now? not in a million yrs. that might change depending on A)more info B) a demo C)if i can get it for £20.
well i decided to pre-order... hey Mr.Bigtime can u give me a translation of what this guy thinks of Rome2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8ZTj_9aneU some comments made about the E3 interviews http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?604488-E3-Video-Interview-Comments
well even if I big doubts about the game it's still something i'll most likely end up getting and I dont think I'll have the patience to wait for it to go on sale. (i want the extra factions as well from the pre-order although I think it's a bit cheeky and is more or less cut content). also i have helped out quite a bit in the technical section over @tw.net so being a helpfull sort I can hopefully solve a few peoples headaches/issues.

Nice. Looks like I should get around 40 fps with my setup, which is fine for an RTS like this. Should get my copy tomorrow (£25 on Amazon). I read the Eurogamer review earlier and they criticised it for the bugs, giving it just 7/10, which is surprising for a franchise as critically acclaimed as this one. Nothing a few dozen patches can't fix!
Publisher: Sega NO THANKS They fked up COH 2 pretty well, they have broken COH 1 superbly. No more! 55€ on Steam? LOL
Performance and A.I broken again? That's a shame indeed, didn't they learn nothing from previous two TW games? I'm really gonna wait to see more before i even think about getting it.
That performance table was made before the patch came out. (day0 patch). The Patch def. gives a perf boost. Shame is the bad KI which seems even worse than before
