would like to try an i7 and these seem about right for me, timing suits too. mid -end of September would be spot on.
reminiscent of the lovely i7 2700k

Looks like my 860 will stay on duty. It's a pitty that motherboards didn't have onboard USB3 at that time. I want my 4 frontpanel USB working for my Corsair 750D, damn it xD

A bit of a surprise & disappointment. Strange they would release it around the same time as haswell E.

Broadwell is still DDR3 (z87 at least so Intel CEO said, z97), Skylake will be DDR4 and with new Z100 chipset.

Imo you would be better of with Skylake.

What with more delays I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see Skylake until the end of 2015 beginning of 2016 so could end up being long wait :(

I'm not sure what I want to do now, I was going to wait for Skylake but may end up going Z97 and picking up one of those 4790Ks and upgrade from my Z77 and 3570K. Fancy one of those M.2 Storage drives too ;)

Dont bother. I have 2 USB3 ports on the front of my corsair air 540 and you can't connect an external HDD to them as it requires more power than can be delivered to them. This results in the drivers not being read properly and windows tells me to format the drive even though it has three partitions already. Hooking it up to one of the back motherboard USB3 ports works perfectly though.

EDIT: And yes I have everything hooked up properly, the thick UBS3 motherboard header is connected. All USB devices are enabled in BIOS.

If they aren't out by late June, Intel won't be receiving my business this year.

I hope many follow so we can give them the middle finger for once, instead of them giving it to us.

Broadwell pushed back to Q2 2015.

Might start looking at Haswell-E again since no new chips coming soon.

Well with me I will just get the 4770k and a z97 board for future upgrades because the 4770k is still a capable CPU. Even though that this is disappointing I will get my monies worth out of the 4770k instead of the 4790k.

They did. Just none of the Asus ones I can think of. Mine has USB 3.

Personally i dont think this rumor will be real, releasing their slightly refreshed Haswell K cpus with the launch of the Haswell E 8cores, seems like a bad idea, unless they also delay Haswell E, thats its possible =(

I don't think the IGP is strong enough to run Witcher 3...

oh gpu will be another story once w3 arrives, however if I get the chance i'll jump on this revision, I like to upgrade cpu around a 2/1 scale vs gpu, like every 2 years or so.
wouldn't like to keep this i5 that much longer, and I never tried i7.
