HUGE frame drops with new 1060 G1

    thx Undyin lol my question is that ram compatible as a direct replacement for what i have right now tho??? will i be able to take out n slap it in and it will just work no issue? im not rly clued up on voltages n stuff thx

    my M5A78L-M LX motherboard supports up to 16gb goiin off what i have research

    Just make sure the voltage is set properly when you first plug them in.

    Ah so you got the 1060, nice! Glad to hear you solved the performance problems too.

    I suppose your best bet is to make sure RAM voltage is at Auto or Default in BIOS before swapping modules.
    Then check after booting up that the actual voltage is correct.

    Should work. CL10 is kinda slow for DDR3-1600. (Mine are CL9, and I know there are CL8 modules too) You should have some decent potential by tightening the timings.

    Idk how much amd fx chips actually benefit from higher ram bandwidth. 1600 cl10 should be fine i think.

    ram arrivin on monday ive had the same gskill ram installed now for like five or even six years *(ever since my first phenom quad core)* it will feel strange finally replacin it as it has done me so proud. i know nothin about timin tho but will prob reset my bios to default setting before i put the new corsair in idk yet thx again for all the replies you give me a lot more confidence to buy new hardware when i would normally stick with what i have as im such a if it aint broke dont fix it kinda dude!!!

    Gskill is the best for system ram in my opinion. I've been using them for years. Corsair is also very good.

    after a no storage found error i rechecked my wires and recapped some of the connections then did a fresh boot and all is golden no need to reset bios or change any timings i can already feel how snappy my OS feels to what it was now its time to jump into same gamin

    i know i keep repeatin myself but thx for all the replies in this thread it spured me on a lot and today we reached the final end game result. cheers everyone!!!

    You should get a nice boost from 16 GB in places.

    Won't increase your fps but in general smoother experience and less streaming from page file.
