Go for it. For a 70 bucks it will be worth it. You'll notice quite a bit of improvement with 16gb.
thx Undyin lol my question is that ram compatible as a direct replacement for what i have right now tho??? will i be able to take out n slap it in and it will just work no issue? im not rly clued up on voltages n stuff thx
my M5A78L-M LX motherboard supports up to 16gb goiin off what i have research
It should be plug and play with no issues (hopefuly).
Just make sure the voltage is set properly when you first plug them in.
thx how do i do that? im with stupid --------------->ME<----------------------
Ah so you got the 1060, nice! Glad to hear you solved the performance problems too.
I suppose your best bet is to make sure RAM voltage is at Auto or Default in BIOS before swapping modules.
Then check after booting up that the actual voltage is correct.
happy to keep gettin all the replies ty i eventuly set my mind on set of Corsair 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance for £ 65.99 after lookin into what my mb supports
16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 for Intel dual channel platforms.
1600MHz with headroom to allow overclocking
Vengeance Red heat spreader for styling and performance
Intel XMP 1.3 (Extreme Memory Profile) Support
Limited Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty
does that sound good rto u guys before i order?thx again!!!
Sounds right to me
Should work. CL10 is kinda slow for DDR3-1600. (Mine are CL9, and I know there are CL8 modules too) You should have some decent potential by tightening the timings.
Idk how much amd fx chips actually benefit from higher ram bandwidth. 1600 cl10 should be fine i think.
ram arrivin on monday ive had the same gskill ram installed now for like five or even six years *(ever since my first phenom quad core)* it will feel strange finally replacin it as it has done me so proud. i know nothin about timin tho but will prob reset my bios to default setting before i put the new corsair in idk yet thx again for all the replies you give me a lot more confidence to buy new hardware when i would normally stick with what i have as im such a if it aint broke dont fix it kinda dude!!!
Gskill is the best for system ram in my opinion. I've been using them for years. Corsair is also very good.

yer gskill ram has given me zero issues in over five years prob the one bit of hardware i have ever owned that hasnt it is stuff of legend hopin corsair lives up to its name.
We have lift off!!!
after a no storage found error i rechecked my wires and recapped some of the connections then did a fresh boot and all is golden no need to reset bios or change any timings i can already feel how snappy my OS feels to what it was now its time to jump into same gamin
i know i keep repeatin myself but thx for all the replies in this thread it spured me on a lot and today we reached the final end game result. cheers everyone!!!
You should get a nice boost from 16 GB in places.
Won't increase your fps but in general smoother experience and less streaming from page file.
