    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M Maxwell will have hard days to refresh a 3200x1800 QHD+ display on the latest games.

    Actually, high-res screens work very well with gaming laptops. You just use full resolution for work, and a quarter of it for games. At 1600x900, you'll get pretty much acceptable performance, with kinda small pixel size and no blur, as each pixel generated by graphics card will be mapped to 2x2 pixel square on the display.

    I think that if screen makers go for dpi that is a round multiple of the reference (96 dpi), both games and legacy apps should work fine, so 192 or 288 would be just fine as it would minimize the distortion related to rounding. This particular laptop has dpi of 276, which is really close to 288.
