Your resolution settings aren't correct if the display ingame has defects.

Does anybody have any idea about my question on how to allow windows to detect resolutions over 4k ?
I tried modifying the registry and widening vertical/horizontal refreshment rates scanning but with no success.

Hey, what downsample resolution do any of you use with 2560x1080?

3412x1440 and 3840x1620 seem like good choices.

So if i put Scaling on my GPU select Override Games/Programs resolutions and Aspect ratio then create as custom 2560x1440 Im not gona kill my asus vs248?

I tried 3840x2160 all I got was black screen on top of my screen but my monitor didnt turn off or gone in standby it was like the Black picture placed on top of my actual screen cause I could see bits and pieces of my wallpaper in the edges

Downsampling won't damage your monitor. Creating custom refresh rates, however, can.

It sounds like your total pixels are just a tad too high for 4k. Try lowering both your h and v total pixels to see if you can find that sweet spot.

2560x1440 seem to be max i able to get show picture, anything above that show like black screen over the actual desktop.

2560x1440 does wonders for jaggies, but it makes everything way to small. And a scale-able ui (a truly scale-able ui) is still something 99% of all PC games just dont have, But after all these years I actual got around to figuring this downsampling out

My monitor is not that expensive but I can reach 3840x2160 if I use these settings.

I gave that try same thing I get Black Screen plaster on top my my desktop I seek bits and pieces of my wallpaper in the top corners I can even see my mouse moving in the top corners. I think it a driver issue

I can't even begin to test downsampling because the NVidia control panel won't even let me check the "Override scaling" box. As soon as I press Apply, it flickers to black, then flickers again and reverts to original settings. The Aspect Ratio setting does the same... this a screen/driver problem? Or maybe I'm just missing something.

    (Monitor is a Samsung SA850, 2560x1440 60Hz)

I've done some quick testing on my new Asus VG248QE (144hz) and was able to achieve higher refresh rates than on my previous LG 120hz monitor:

    2560x1440 @ 95hz (vs. 76hz)
    2880x1620 @ 85hz (vs. 76hz)
    3200x1800 @ 75hz (vs. 75hz)

these are on auto timings. I wonder if I can get higher refresh rates on manual, but the difference is already meaningful for the "playable" resolutions :)

I can't go above 2520x1575 on any of the standard timings or manual. If I try only a small sliver of the desktop is actually displayed at the top. I could go well beyond double my native resolution with my old 560ti, it's only since I upgraded to a 760.

The same happened when I upgrade from GTX460 to GTX680. I can't create 1680x1050@3360x2100, even with custom timings.

I was able to create a 1680x1050@3360x2100 only after BIOS modification. DISP clock should be increased from 540Mhz to 599Mhz:

Now 1680x1050 @ 3360x2100 is available with the following settings:

drivers 331.40 tells me a resolution passed. but then goes and deletes it. and when I try those settings again. it says it failed.

Damn, I really don't want to mess around with flashing the GPU bios. Do you know what DISP means? I tried searching for it but couldn't find a definition.

Messing with display clocks is degrading the graphics card stability so be careful.

I think it would take more of a toll on your display more than the gpu, wouldnt it?

I wouldn't think so, not if you set your GPU to scale the image. I mean adjusting the timings usually will but I never had to do that with my 560ti on these monitors.
