Thank you for the feedback. I don't own an RTX card, so question from my side - what is the usage case scenario for USB-C driver on your end?

Regarding drive size, indeed it is slowly creeping up. Nvidia, after all, did add a lot of new features recently.

Ahh, I assumed it wasn't included in the driver folder as it doesn't show up as an option during installation, like it does with the RTX driver. This is how I installed it: Device Manager > PCI device > Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software [Ray Tracing Clean Driver Folder]

My GPU has a USB-c display output, so without that I have a missing driver in device manager, plus no USB-c display output of course.

It's only indeed for RTX cards so you need to make the RTX version how to is in the first post

    You have 2 options:
    1) use RTX driver, as Barebones version is mainly oriented towards people that a) don't need RTX capabilities b) have non-RTX GPU
    2) Manually clean a driver and leave the components you deem necessary.

Afaik those are part of GeForce Experience. Refer to the OP, there is a section explaining how to use clean driver + geforce experience.

Not sure, as I haven't used it for ages. Have you installed Barebones version or RTX version?

considering the small size of the usb port manager driver and the fact it only installs on suppored devices, i don't see a point to 'cleaning' it out of the package.

its not like the hd audio driver where windows includes on already.

What component in specific are you refering to? PPC / NvvHCI or something else?

PPC, its the type c port manager, not including this leaves a device uninstalled and usb c

The other one is the virtual xhci driver that is required in order to connect usb controllers directly to a Shield in streaming mode.

Excluding the PPC driver is a bit like leaving out the display driver itself :p

Afaik it is only used with RTX cards. Hence it is part of the RTX card package.
Have they changed something or 1660 cards rely on it as well?

Oh bbboy.... Will be up later on today.

the USB C controller is included on the 1660 and ti gpu's as well, very few vendors add the port though.

Since we all like our drivers light and clean, I thought this was the best place to ask... it's about telemetry, currently just the DisplayDriverRAS and NvProfileUpdater plugins + symlinks to them that can get manually deleted correct? Nothing has changed since a few driver versions? I may be out of the loop.

Yes, you can manually clean them out after the installation. Or pre-clean the driver with a dummy file approach.
