The demo was put together specifically for Blizzcon. The game is still at LEAST a year away... The demo was probably running on D3's engine and not the new engine they've been working on. Being that the game won't be released this year....and good chance it won't be released next year. You'll probably be saving money on D4 until at least 2021.... Latest statement on release date is "Not soon. Not even Blizzard soon"... Which, if keeping with past trends, means 1+ years out from release.
I say it this way. If online only Diablo came at time of Hellgate: London, it would have failed in exactly same manner. If Hellgate: London came 5~6 years later, it would have succeed.
If people really want a Diablo 3 offline version all we have to do is convince a significant number of people to defer their purchase of Diablo 4 a month or 2 . its the only way to make corporations like Blizzard create the software that the people want, its to hit their bottom line
Blizzard's hardcore fanbase will be pre-ordering D4..... Not sure why so many with "always on" broadband connections have such a big issue with "online only" games.....especially the people using Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc..... Your PC is always online anyway. To correct a statement earlier in this thread, Diablo4 was never intended for mobile..... It was always intended to be a cross-platform release for PC/XBox/PS.... I've heard nothing about micro-transactions in D4....
PLayed Diablo liked got diablo2 cause I liked diablo, yah I never finished diablo 2 have not bother with series since, but I know peopel that live and breath the game I just dont get it Everything is Online now consider everything has it own Digital store/client now. Image how frack the world would be if there was no internet?!
I use Steam but I also use offline mode a lot, for example I have played the game Space Engineers for what Steam says 721 hours, but if I would include the time I played it offline that time would probably be well over 1000. Offline modes for singleplayer games shouldn't be some crazy concept.
^ Yeah, when the Hype was too real. Now,'lizard's fanbase dont give a heck about this d4 release. Long Live D2LOD (and POE).
