That's a pretty infantile way of looking at the price of merchandise. Even if you ordered 10,000 no-name fans from a Chinese factory, you still wouldn't get them 0.70 bucks a piece. If you have people living and working in an expensive country developing the fans (and other cooling elements), the packaging, the marketing, and all that other jazz, the price ramps up quickly even before you get to the point of paying for the production line at a factory. Then you have to transport and distribute them. The importers and resellers will want their, quite considerable, cut of the profit, as well as governments thirsting for tolls and taxes. The world is full of fan makers, since they aren't ultra complicated things like CPUs, so competition is harsh. Btw, I have been throwing no-name Chinese fans to the e-waste after a year of use at worst, so to spare myself from the trouble of needing to replace fans inside the PC, I wouldn't buy random el cheapo fans.
SW3's are some of the best rad fans you can buy. you can also get them discounted when buying multiples.
...and no LED??? - this is a 50 % decrease in performance at least! But joking aside I have silent wings 3 fans in my case and they are some of the best that I owned - silent and great performance. I hope that "four series" goes on the same road.
Sure but trying to buy said fan in the US still costs $7 say for a Yate Loon which is a decent quality Chinese fan. They are not as quiet and the sleave bearings won't last as long. They are a better value.
as if everything wasn't cheaper 14 years ago what a silly attitude this is, i'll go buy myself a fan at 14-years-ago price then im not going to ship the fans from taiwan when I need one either. and they're probably medioccre compared to silent wings anyway. so yeah, great comments.
