We had an absurd corporate apology over here in Poland some time ago. Basically there was an advertisement of some tomato concentrate. A girl asks her mom why she uses that particular brand, so she hesitates for a while and says that it's the most "tomato-like-tomato" tomato concentrate... well it's difficult to translate it to English, but you get the point. Then another brand manufacturer to the court and says that the ad is misleading as their concentrate is made of more tomatoes for the given amount of the end product. As a result, I've seen a full-page apologies in a common newspaper saying that company X apologies for the unfair practices and misleading campaign and their concentrate isn't the most "tomato-like-tomato", and the title goes to company Y. I had really good laughs, as the wording was really childish and completely informal, and appeared in a very formal statement.
Personally, I don't care one bit of it being a real apology or not. I'm just glad someone with a real legal clout reveals Apple for what they are : a bunch of d!cks.
A bit more clarifying info regarding the Mexico case. http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/2/3...mexican-trademark-standoff-whats-really-going And in that respect, it even solidifies my previous thought more : Apple is just a bunch of d!cks.
Another 'update' for the apology story. http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20121109130213229 Seems like Apple are likely to be ordered to "pay for everything the lawyers cost Samsung, not just fees but parking, phone calls, and from day one" due to a point in the order which read : That's cutting it close to being deemed as a contempt of court. Click here for the online version of the order.
