Its hardware because a filter is applied. Its not strictly downscaling.

Just like DSR was only available for 970/980 initially.

Im sure they will add gcn 1.0 eventually.

You people are really mindless. nVidia's DSR initially also was available only on 970 and 980, two latest top cards, they added it for other cards later, the same is gonna happen with amd.

No new features, no improvements for HD7xxx. I'm a little disappointed.

Hope they fixed sleep-wake issue at least, it's very frustrating.

That is confirmed fixed along with flash causing BSODs with HW acceleration on. These were the 2 biggest outstanding bugs that had been in every driver release this year. It is embarrassing that they took this long to finally fix.

its a bit of a moving target as flash gets updated fairly often, not really AMDs fault.

Got BSOD while updating it (opened youtube video could be the cause), after restarting and reinstalling everything works fine.

probably not. I have the same gfx combo as you, so you will need to either wait for a modded SG fix or install official 14.12whql drivers and then try running the SG fix patcher in safemode from Leshcat/funkymike >>>http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4952235&postcount=5
remember to always to always do clean install using DDU, then install the new drivers.

I haven't tried these yet, so just waiting for now....no rush since 14.11b1 has been fine for me.

This was. It effected all versions of flash. Look back at all the release notes this year, you'll see no mention of any attempt to address the issue. I really hope this driver is the start of a new trend as I plan to keep this card for at least another year.

I have a HD 6950 card (Gigabyte GV-R695OC-1GD). The driver support page says that HD 5000 and HD 6000 series are supported. However, when I tried to install it over 14.11.2 Beta it said that the display driver is already at the latest version. I removed the beta driver but now the display driver entry is not even showing amongst the install components. What could be the problem?

in CCC after installing this package without the display driver:

    Driver Packaging Version: 13.251.9001.1001-140704a-173665E-ATI
    Catalyst version: 14.11.2 Beta
AMD Catalyst Control Center Version: 2014.1120.2123.38423

    ...
Solved: I was installing the win 7 driver... AMD should fix its website.

This driver is horrible in BF4 mantle, is it possible to implement previous 14.11. beta2 mantle driver into this one?

Agreed, Although I think it's backfired as I'm looking at upgrading my 280X but it WON'T be for another AMD that's for sure.

In older games, yes. AMD is limiting it for the sake of promoting newer cards. We already know it is possible to do on 7000 series cards, it is just a difficult process.

I'm not sure of the conditions needed for the media BSoD; but I've only seen it happen once with some unofficial beta driver months ago.

Just earlier last night before updating to the omega driver, I had an Eyefinity setup, and was opening up media files with DXVA left and right, with overclocked video memory. Could clearly see the left monitor artifact when the memory clock changed. No BSoDs, no instability.

Maybe my card is just perfect (in certain conditions) :p

Haven't tried these drivers yet and probably won't for a while as 13.12 are perfect for me in the games I have. I want to know what the difference is between VSR and what I currently do, which is set in-game resolution to 2560x1600 or 3840x2400 and have the GPU scale it down to my native res (1680x1050). From reading it seems to be the same thing or does VSR give a better image or something?

It only occurred on GCN 1.1 cards (260, 280, 290).
