Budget is one of the keywords that AMD likes to address. It's a huge market and really what's not to like about it Today AMD is adding another budget processor to their line-up in specific the AMD... More...
Wow! Only $79? That's impressive. And that is just amazing. Half the price and only 10% less performance. Pretty cool strategy, imo.
It has been reported that this chip also can be unlocked. Unlocked as in more cores available, for free as in beer. c1: :biggun: intel
Tried it last week, but was unsuccesful with a Gigabyte, ECS and FoxConn motherboard. They all 'try' to do something with ACC enable in the BIOS, as the BIOS post takes unusually long. But neither the 7750 and 7850 unlocked to four cores on my end. But this trick is known to only work with some motherboards.
Yup. Price wise it's insane (7850 costs almost 23% more than 7750 here in Finland). I am building a HTPC rig based around 7750 BE and it looks like it's a great CPU for the money.
Yeah that makes no sense. I mean Hilbert couldn't get a stable overclock beyond 3300mhz which is about the same as the 7750 BE, so you couldn't even say the 7850 has higher binning.... Interesting to see which boards he couldn't unlock the extra cores with - I was thinking of a Gigabyte AMD 790 to replace my ASUS with in hope of enabling more cores. Guess I'll keep looking...I read somewhere that you could do it with certain Biostar boards. I'm sure it must be software related though..Maybe a bios mod would do it, or even a bios update? I must say these Kuma's seem to take a lot of juice. 1.55v is quite a jump from the stock vcore...
