AMD has presented they will release two new graphics cards: the RX 470 and RX 460. The two cards are positioned below the previously announced RX 480. Although it is not mentioned, it is rather likely that both models are based on Polaris GPU's. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-unveiling-radeon-rx-product-with-480-470-and-460.html
i wanna see performance already... if all their product deliver best performance per dollar, AMD might finally turn around the wheel.
Maybe the performance is just mediocre so thats why they're not showing it? I mean what is there to hide at this point, Nvidia has already revealed their performance numbers so it's not like it's about manufacturer secrets anymore..
Seriously , these tiny cards behind all the hassle ! AMD you are really rolling back . Although , I buy only Nvidia , but AMD always keeps it in check in matter of price and performance.
I think you don't understand AMD what they want to archive here. They want best GPU per buck. Lets say 1080 will get 100fps but cost 700€+, while with 480 you will get let's say 45fps+ for 200€.
F*** 45fps. End of. That s*** doesn't roll with me. If you're willing to accept that, then, just buy a console. Bring on big Polaris, this low-end stuff holds back PC gaming. Yes, it's a big market, but, it's the PC equivalent of consoles performance-wise tbh.
CRY MORE! Guess what, these are the markets that bring the most cash in for PC, not just hardware. Grow the hell up.
You should understand that selling 12 gpus with 250$ (3000$ total) is better than selling 2 gpus with 750$(1500$ total) for any company out there. So AMD knows that better than anyone who cries and bashing for that mediocre perf.
RX480 wont be 45% of gtx1080. Firestrike benches already puts it ahead of GTX980 which means you'll get atleast 55~60% of 1080 performance for 200~250$ (and in ashes crossfire is ahead of 1080, but it's amd bias). + we don't know how much this thing can overclock. Seeing nVidia at 2ghz makes me hopeful for AMD, but we'll see shortly what 14nm brings. It's coming out 30th of June, right? Time to sell my king, the 290, it has served me well.
Well it depends some lower end gpus are not providing smooth gameplay experience even at @1080p. Some people including me need a stronger GPU just for pathetic 1080p with a price tag lower than or equal with 299$.
Nothing wrong with 480, very good product that I've already commented on. It's these people advocating 45fps as a good thing that does my head in. Who in their right mind would recommend a product that gives 45fps over something that gives closer to 60fps? I wouldn't do that to my enemies. Sorry.
Amd needs more market share,so if some of you cry because they dont have something to be equal of 700$+ Gtx 1080 they dont care now. Vega its for you.Or maybe later they will give us RX 490 at the right price. The rest of 80% gamers will be glad to buy 100-200$ cards. The 20% market from enthusiast gamers is still low but Amd will bring us Vega.
