Does the Display Optimization Wizard still display a "cloned mode" error message?

for HL2 dont' blame the drivers... ATI set it so that the games shaders aren't compatible.. I have the same issue with GW for 77.xx drivers.. game plays beautiful and looks 10x better.. but when i log out... instant BSOD if i played more than 15-20mins straight... its not driver related cause there are no issues with the drivers.. i get FPS boosts, graphic boosts and total stability with everything BUT ati based game shaders...

FARCRY was almost unplayable for me .... latest patch v1.32 that just came out fixed the issue... at least for me it did... but I reverted to 76.50 cause of GW *to obssessed with GW right now to deal with 2-3 BSOD a day due to crappy shading programming by arenanet and ATI*

    I played HL2 for 2 hours.
I played smooth, no glitches and no crashes.
I overclocked my card, and still had no problem with these drivers.

I think it's hard to create a driver that's compatible with every pc in the universe...

Yeh. I dont understand all the problems. I installed this morning and have had no problems at all. They work great. I have been playing BF2 Retail Version all day and UT2K4 and CS:S. No problems at all. Run awesome.

Well I'm confertable with 77.30 that came with BF2 demo, even with lockon,

:D unless I see from you guys a major change to 77.72, then I wont change...As of now I dont see some improvement, but more disapoitment from these drivers.

with my present drivers my BFG-6800GT/Oc is verry well taking care of... all smooth, colours and graphics are great, I really have no need to try different drivers, but if the majority of this forum thinks it worth the try. I respect your opinion. Then I might. Its testers like you guys that make the difference...

    Hooked on Lockon & BF2

    The Moose
    My 2 cents.
    Cheers

Was using the 66.93s with my BFG 6800 Ultra OC cause all the drivers I tried didn`t excite. Had the shadows prob with them in BF 2. Tried the 77.30s, fixed the shadow prob, but detail seemed not as good as the 66.93s, and it seem to chug every now and then.

Today I tried the 77.72s. BF 2 now looks and runs amazing for me. Definately keeping the 77.72s. BF 2 looks freaking beautiful with no more shadows problem, and runs awesomely. Running at all highest vis settings, at 1024x768x32, no AA.

Thanks! This worked like a charm, these drivers are not so bad. All I wish is that HL-2 would stop stuttering and work normall? :O

    yay!

Has anyone else had a problem with all the steam games with these new drivers? Since I installed the 77.72s CS:S and HL2 won't start coz they keep saying that my video card does not support directx 7 or some crap. Which is stupid because its a directx 9 card and I played it a few days ago on this card.
