Question: I noticed while browsing on some websites (I think this was Scan or Over********.co.uk) that the EVGA GTX 690 comes with a DVI-to-HDMI adaptor as well as DVI-to-VGA one. Do all the GTX 690s come with these as standard or do EVGA just throw in more stuff than other manufacturers?

Also, does the GTX 690 and other NVIDIA SLI GPUs suffer from negative scaling when there isn't a profile for a game or is it intelligent enough to just run on one and disable the other GPU? I'm asking because when I had my HD 5870 CFX setup there were a lot of games that scaled negatively and it was annoying, though RadeonPro did at least make it less so. I'm curious about trying SLI even though my experiences with CFX have made me pro-single GPU. (Personally, I thought AMD's drivers sucked)

Evga throw in a bit more with regards to what your saying,i didnt recieve any connectors like that from Gigabyte, problem is over here in the UK you can get any brand apart from EVGA,its the same old story with anything thats released form them that is brand new,you have to wait longer to get hold of there products, nothing new tbh.

Over in the USA people are saying there is nothing but EVGA and they find that other companies like Asus,Gigabyte Msi etc are harder to get over there.

As for cfx issues that you had,Nvidia is a whole different ball game, they scale much better than Ati cards, ive played a couple of games without setting up profiles and they use full amount of gpu according to msi afterburner/evga precision.

If you want to try sli but are unsure, then i suggest you buy a 2nd card, try it and if you dont want it you can always return within 7 days as part of Distance selling regulations, most companies today abide by this, other than that its the only way your gonna find out tbh.

Some more Benchies with an Overclock.
Monitoring software:EVGA Precision(Seems more stable than Afterburner for me)
    Driver:301.33
Rating on Driver:Good driver but could and will get better, certainly better than the horrendous 301.34
    Power target:135
    Gpu clock offset:120mhz
    Memory clock offset:200mhz

    Gpu1:1176
    Gpu2:1166/1176
    Max temp:70 Degrees
    Fan speed:70
    Max volts:1.175

This is a great oc and i feel there is more to squeeze out of these on air with this driver!

The drivers will get better, guaranteed which will improve oc.
I will be pushing this card further as i have not hit oc threshold yet.

    Here are few benchies.
    3Dmark Vantage...DX10 Phyxs on

Heaven Bench DX11 cpu at 4.3

Heaven Bench DX11 cpu at 4.4 increase in fps by 1

    More benchies soon,stay tuned:)

    V. nice! But play the games, dammit! :D

How does Batman: Arkham City play for example on a GTX 690 with everything maxed, DX11, including tessellation and Extreme detail with 4xMSAA. Even post-patch the game still doesn't run as smoothly I feel it should on my setup which is a bit disappointing. For example, as soon as I resume a save game and turn the camera as soon as the game has loaded the framerate stutters. It eventually smooths out but even during gameplay there are moments where it hitches noticeably. Going through a door into a new area also causes the framerate to tank (sub-10 fps). DX9 is much smoother but you'd think a GTX 680 would be able to handle a DX11 port of a console game, right?

P.S. Why are you running benchmarks at 1680x1050?!? :3eyes:

I dont have Batman AA,i think the game sucks tbh mate, sorry.
Im running at 1680*1050 because th settings that you see in Heaven bench is the same settings that people over at Overclock.net are using so its easy to compare when all are the same.

Honestly the price difference between the GTX670 and GTX 680 is'nt that much here in Ireland so I am happy with what I have This is the cheapest Etailer here in Ireland

    http://www.dabs.ie/products/best-va...mi-80NN.html?refs=4294945034-4294943923&src=3 €491.48

    http://www.dabs.ie/products/evga-ge...mi-82PC.html?refs=4294945034-4294943836&src=3 €432.43

The difference in savings is very small so I would still buy the GTX690 or 2x GTX680

I had 2x GTX470 before and never saw any micro stuttering in any games.

Yo vet turn off ht and run the 920 as high as you can get 3d03 to run.
then run stock clocks on that 690 of yours then as high as you can get to pass.\the first four test thats all then hit escape... when you get a chance please.

You no problems mate ill do that,i can tell you know that my cpu has more overclocking ability in it but my ram will let me down as its running at 1675 and its only stated to run at 1600mhz tops so wether HT on or off i may only get 4.4 because of my ram.

Why do you want me to do this specific benching request anyhow mate?

I trierd the 301.33 drivers for my gtx sli config and they seem to work just fine here too.

Also it works to power off the computer now from windows which didnt work with the 301.34 drivers :)

First of all i turned HT off and i couldnt get my cpu to go more than 4438mhz any more than this and i was getting ram error once i started benching,i was fine getting into windows at 4.5 though,so i left it at this.

if i had 1866 ram i could go 4.5 i think but its not worth me getting ram at this speed unless i was to get a cpu that would go higher than 4.5 maybe 4.6 as the ram would be wasted and not fulfill its maximum potential at the speed it would be running like 1866mhz.

I also have no plans to drop another cpu into this x58.

Ok these are the settings i used.

    Power target:135
    Gpu clock offset:120mhz
    Memory clock offset:200mhz

    Gpu1:1176mhz
    Gpu2:1166/1176mhz
    Max temp:50 Degrees
    Fan speed:70
    Max volts:1.175

I ran one with stock like you asked....4 tests only
    [IMG]

I ran this one at the oc above 1176/1176
    [IMG]
I could go higher on the gpu oc i think but ill try tomorrow mate.

Quick heaven bench,i increased the core clock up by 10mhz and the memory clock up to a massive 500mhz!Fully stable
Things are starting to get hot now as card is hitting mid 70s in temps, max on the core is now 1186mhz full load.

Monitoring software:EVGA Precision(Seems more stable than Afterburner for me)
    Driver:301.33
Rating on Driver:Good driver but could and will get better, certainly better than the horrendous 301.34

    Another bench using Heaven.

    Power target:135
    Gpu clock offset:140mhz
    Memory clock offset:500mhz

    Gpu1:1196
    Gpu2:1186/1196
    Max temp:68 Degrees
    Fan speed:80
    Max volts:1.175

For Hilbert to get 1250mhz on the core stable is outstanding, obviously the sample cards are much better than the ones that are for sale, ive noticed this about many reviewers, there sample cards seem to be better generally.

Im still happy with this oc that ive achieved and im confident i will be able to go even higher once a proper driver comes out as the drivers at the moment are hit and miss i feel.

What is the usual temp. when not OC'ed, is it really just around 45C?
