yer OG Battlefront was a strictly third person game for me it gives you a clear view of the battlefield and with so much goin on you need to stay sharp the first person mode is like real limited its horrible and cuts out much of what is goin on in your view space. get used to third person its how the game was rly meant to be played. i took a break from the game but gonna install it later today
While it's true that first person is a disavantage, it does feel great :3 I'm constantly switching camera (love their system btw), left/right/first person jump jump, fast 3rd person to peak, back to first person... !! hehe Tried to make a similar system in ue4 last week:
Though I am kinda late to the game, I am digging this. The things I`m not really digging is piloting. Not a deal breaker by any means. Hard to control intuitively for me. And the forced 3rd person stuff. I would like to switch away from any 3rd person view when "I" choose. Otherwise the game is beautifully rendered and immersive as fox... sucking me into the SWs universe. Almost like I`m playing inside the movie tbh. They really did do SWs justice visually. But the forced 3rd person segments absolutely blow for me. I doubt I`ll bother completing this game because of that shiz. I don`t need or want to see any azzes of my characters. lol
Had to dig to find this thread ! New patch is up, a brand new map, a new 'midclass-hero' Commando Trooper, a couple game modes in Coop added. Played the new map and hero a bit if you wanna check it all out: Video from Jackfrag
Holy smokes that new map looks pimp! Need to give it a go. Funny how this game that everyone hated on so hard is getting almost more support than BF5.
It's getting WAY more support. To me it's funny that I played the heck out of it back when it was "bad", but now can't get back into it when it's super polished and an actually really good game. BFV however still feels like it's in beta stage, almost 1 year after release.
Yea I know what you mean, I played the crap out of it post-launch but I still go back every once in a while and still have a blast, especially on Takodana which is always nuts.
Same here, i was crunching it really hard when you actually had to earn everything via the random loot boxes because i sure as hell wouldn't give them RL money for anything. Funny thing now that it's easier i don't feel like playing it. Maybe i would reinstall it if someone would play coop with me but then - next months i'll be kinda busy with GR Breakpoint. And early next year we'll have Cyberpunk2077. So next year is pretty much planned out as well.
EA packs its bags and gets on the last shuttle out of the SW galaxy for now. We get a pretty big update today though and by now there's a lot of content for solo and coop players that i personally never checked out. I'll def take a look. So we now have: Multiplayer/Arcade/Instant Action Ground Ajan Kloss The Klosslands Bespin Administrator's Palace Crait Abandoned Rebel Outpost Death Star II Command Sector North Endor Ewok Village Research Station 9 Felucia Tagata Geonosis Pipeline Junction West Trippa Hive Separatist Dreadnought Hoth Outpost Delta Jakku The Graveyard Kamino Cloning Facility Kashyyyk Kachirho Beach Naboo Theed Palace Hangar Republic Attack Cruiser Kessel Coaxium Mine Scarif (Coming today) Starkiller Base Command Center Takodana Maz's Castle Tatooine Mos Eisley Jabba's Palace Yavin 4 The Great Temple Space Kamino Research Outpost Ryloth Lucrehulk Battleship Endor Death Star Debris Fondor Imperial Shipyard D'Qar Resistance Base Evacuation Unknown Regions Resurgent Star Destroyer Campaign Endor Death Star II Debris Fondor Imperial Shipyard Naboo Theed Takodana Maz's Castle Starkiller Base Jakku Bespin Invincible Faith Vardos Naboo (Space) Scarif Sullust Pillio Athulla
Alright so... new update came out today. The 'big deal' about this update, for me, was the inclusion (finally, about 2 years later) of new modes to play in Instant Action with (and against) A.I. opponents (outside of the previous modes that were limited to just fighting Infantry Vs Infantry), basically more Single-Player content. Now, we DO have access to more modes, and most of the bigger maps in Supremacy, for example. I tested it, and here's the positive stuff: Infantry A.I. on Normal and Expert is alright. It's nothing bad, really. It's nothing mind-blowing, but they do use their abilities, they move a lot, rarely stand in one spot. They react well enough when sniped. They turn around to look at where the shot came from, instead of automatically just firing at you, so the 'auto-lock' / '100% awareness' stuff is tuned down to make it look like they take some time to assess the situation; that's good A.I. programming to be honest. The A.I. for the Heroes and Villains is good enough as well, they use abilities, fight well and rarely get killed for stupid reasons. I mean, generally-speaking, the non-special units (soldier, heavy, specialist, etc) along with the rest of the units you gain access to with more combat points, and the Heroes and Villain... it's all good. So, that part is working well. Also, a very good surprise: It's Up To 64 Players. Yes, this is not a joke. We can set up matches to have 32 Players on both sides for a total of 64. Now I didn't play Battlefront 2 since... I can't remember, maybe more than year. If this was actually implemented for online play as well then props to the Devs for finally doing it. If it's limited to Instant Action then good for me, since that's the mode I wanted to play the most. Now... the negative stuff: The A.I. vehicles do not fire at the enemy. It's obviously a bug, but it's general, in all modes with vehicles I've tested, all maps (tested 4 maps so far). If I just take Hoth as my example, the AT-STs do walk around, they do look toward the enemy when they show up, but no firing, nothing. It's bugged. They had 2 years to do this. It's bugged. Great. It was the #1 thing I wanted to finally see happen in this game and it doesn't work. It's also the smaller vehicles, same problem, for example the Separatist Droid 'speeders' on Khasyyyk... they do move around and get to enemy territory, they even get close range to objectives, they rotate to face enemies, but they never fire anything. Another possible bug is that my A.I. teammates did not even seem to shoot at vehicles to start with. I might have to check that one again but I'm about 90% sure that nearly all the damage I did to the AT-STs on Hoth was from me. Additionally to the above, my A.I. teammates did NOT use the Rebel turrets nor the Tauntauns that are there ready to be used and doing nothing. So that's either intended (which wouldn't be surprising, less A.I. coding to do), or a bug (and if that's the case, nice job testing your stuff Dice). Same with Imperial A.I., not using turrets (it's possible to get in Rebel turrets as Imperials to use them against the Rebels of course, but my A.I. teammates don't do it, at all). I've used Hoth in my examples a lot and that's because it's basically the one main scenario I wanted to experience the most with A.I., but where the heck is the game mode where we fight against (as Rebels) or alongside (as Imperials) the AT-ATs? I haven't played in so long that I can't even recall what mode that map was. All I recall was that the map was split in 3 phases. As the Imperials you'd start right next to the AT-ATs at some point (maybe phase 2, not sure... it's been a long time) and you'd make your way to the Rebel generators. So I've looked in Instant Action for that mode and I just can't find it. The only thing I'm seeing is Supremacy (it's just one large map with up to a maximum of only 2 AT-STs spawning). I might be forgetting some things. But... basically, we're STILL stuck at Infantry-only combat, and the few maps where you get to see the A.I. "use" vehicles (very limited in number, maximum of 2 in the options) it's bugged and they don't fight with them. Soooooo... was all for nothing. Now since they're done with big updates they probably won't add any of the missing game modes for some maps that are surely missing (like the Hoth map version where with fight AT-ATs), won't increase the number of vehicles (maximum of 2 in any maps supporting vehicles is extremely low, it's stupid; they don't even work anyway) and I don't even know if they'll even look at the current bugs to fix them. Maybe. We'll see. For now, this patch was a damp squid.
For someone that was been away for the most games of the last 10 years, impressive graphics in this game. Frostbite engine still has the same issues with dark areas, but for the most looks great.
Got this for free from Epic games.Man im floored with the graphics not a fan of star wars so Im not sure even what the characters are talkking about im guessing, im playing as a villain? no?
Really happy seeing people jumping on this game as it's currently free. Deserves attention. I really like how this game turned out.
Hello everyone, The Mods for Battlefront 2 are amazing but unfortunately, I can't get them to work. I have been at this for hours. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Does anyone have a step by step tutorial for these Mods in the videos below? I really enjoy playing the bots and multiplayer when available. Has anyone tried these Mods? They look incredible. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
