13600K still wins for gaming. Same for 5800X3D.

Only for those who need all those cores would get these CPUs, same for Ryzen 7x00 series at the moment.

    AMD release the Kraken now!!!

Taking consumption into account, the 5800x3d achieves more frames per watt consumed.

Add -25 cruve to 5800X3D and it destroys 5600X. This chip has crazy bining . IF it were unlocked whole Zen4 lineup would be close to usless.

As if UV didnt work for any CPU
See 13900k at 88w on computerbase,it destroys everything

5800X3D is now £360 in the UK, such a bargain for the performance.

Did't do much on my 5600X , just a little. On 5800X3D it is a different story.

    You mean i5 12400 ? :D.

What suprises mi that 13th gen is degradation in perf per wat/ and not a small one.

I'd be interested in knowing what more modern video encoding performance is like now, not just h.264, but HTML5, h.265, VP9 etc, as we have now got more chipsets using these for encoding and decoding for VOD. Mediatek have these abilities for their chipsets inside of most (and I mean most) new televisions, albeit at greatly reduced abilities.

VP9 is good modern standard benchmark for AMD desktop and intel desktop chipsets - any chance of seeing these numbers moving forward?

What mobile do you have, I'm assuming it has Bios support for UV or are you running a program.

Actually, Intel really did it this time. As they claimed, it looks like, new E-Core cluster IPC perf. is on par now with one Skylake P-core, same performance with much less power. Although platform is not comparable, it looks promising for a future PCIe5.0, DDR5 Workstation/ HEDT, if there ever will be one.

Love the 13700k. I reused my ddr4 32gb 3600 kit from my old 8700k, my old corsair h115i (mounting fits) and bough the cheapest z690 i could find (gigabyte gamingX ddr4). XMP needed a little tweaking but works fine with some extra voltage and the system is very stable with all p cores at 5.6.

Thank you for the review @Hilbert Hagedoorn , awesome review , well done and stright to the point. Also thanks for using appropiate ram ddr5-7200Mhz as this indeed helps this cpu's get every single drop of performance out of it. This cpu it's a good compromise between performance / price as it does have 8P cores and enough E cores to be master of all trades and a little more future proof than the 6P cores 13600k.

That's why i decided to get me a 13700KF instead of 13900K as with a little tweaking you get same or more performance as the i9 13900k but for a lot less money. Still testing my sample on custome h2o set up , so far i love it :) and it does feels a lot snappier than my old 5800x that i was running. great cpu for the money !

    Edit:

Upgraded from a 12700KF to the 13700KF over the weekend and it is so much better, FPS appear to be more stable, I'm running XMP2 @ 4000 using Gear 1 and it appears stable, the 12700KF would crash if I attempted this.

Temps are not so bad either, idle temps range from 36-41. During gaming process temps is around 42-60 depending on the game. I am still tweaking stuff but so far I am very happy.

I'm using the Asus Z690 gamer wifi D4 with Waterforce X360 cooler, fan speed from 1500rpm - 1800rpm (not to loud thankfully).

    12700KS ? 13700KS ? There are no such CPUs.

For me, this is the best Intel CPU right now, it offers more cores than the 13600k and its almost as fast as the 13900k but with a much better price.

But in the end, it's still very expensive, at least for me.

As for AMD, they really need to do something otherwise they are going to be in big trouble...

    Great review!
