https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/news/launch-of-battlefield-5-is-just-the-beginning What a joke. I'm sorry, but as a huge Battlefield fan that has been trying really hard to stay positive and keep my friends interested.. I have a hard time with this. What exactly is the game releasing with at launch? It's insane how much is clearly not ready... this game is clearly being rushed out in hopes of getting back some lost revenue from Battlefront(s). Practice range and vehicle customization 1-2 months after the game releases? Grand operations 2-3 months? Battle Royale ~4 months? Am I the only one around here that would prefer a game just not be released until it's ready? "A Live Service Journey Through the Second World War".. more like "A Full Priced Game Unlocked Within the Span of A Year". I just don't like this crap. I didn't like having to wait for the new levels in Hitman (reboot) and I definitely don't like paying for promises from EA. I was ok with some SP War Stories coming out later and even 'Battle Royale' being a month or two behind.. but not what seems to be like a lot of the meat and bones.. EA is kidding themselves here. Those executives are really out of touch with reality. EDIT: I may have read the chart wrong. We may be getting an 'additional' Grand Operation mission in 2-3 months. It all still seems pretty underwhelming. I know expectations were probably too high, but I was hoping for something more and solid.
I'm not a fan of the release schedule (as pointed out previously), but I really do appreciate the communication and the Dev Talk videos. Dev talk on the "live service":
Oh my god...so many different dates. This is completely ridiculous! https://www.battlefield.com/news/ways-to-play-early
Just get the origin access premier for a month for early access, and then standard edition... what i did
I can understand now why EA laughs all the way to the bank They get an additional 15€ from you guys for something that they could have included for everyone, and by that I mean one date for every platform. But if you feel it's worth 15€ to play one month early, go ahead
Got a key for £30ish so even with the 15$ premium I'm still paying less than either the normal or deluxe version of the game or any new game on steam for that matter. Thanks for adding so much to the conversation. Not that I don't think the games worth full price, your getting the same amount of content as BF1 at launch and even if you only count the first 3 months or the road map you will have more free guns, maps , modes ect than you even got in the past few games.
You're welcome EA (specifically the way they treat their customers with utter contempt while happily taking their money) does not inspire me to say nice things about them.
EA It's just funny after they said the game will have no loot boxes, what they meant to say is we will be using a different form of loot boxes.
