That's true! When I enable AA in DX11 it seems smoother. But it is possible that my eyes fool me It also seems like that people with a high clocked CPU have better results in DX11, but I could be wrong. Drivers? Microsoft? The engine? Also, the effects of tesslation are a bit exaggerated. As far as I can see, the geometry is dramaticly tesslated and extruded/displaced. That could be a reason a GPU runs out of juice/hits his limit. Edit: @ connos: What settings did you use? I have the idea that due to unknown reasons I am getting lower results than most of the 4870's.

HD5850 @ 800/1200 CPU down to 250 bus speed because for some reason it's unstable at 300 with these DX11 benchmarks and tech demos lol, bottleneck i know, i'll be getting a quad either this christmas or january
On my machine DX 9 stutters a bit and DX 10 and DX 11 run smooth, even though DX 9 has a higher frame rate.

Isn't obvious to anyone why dx9 runs on higher fps compared to dx10 and dx11? I mean it has less fluff innit... And DX11 runs on lower fps then dx10 b/c they use tesselation to bump the IQ. If they were aiming for equal IQ dx11 would be alot more efficient then dx10 due to how tesselation works, but its a dubble edged sword here, if you go nuts on tesselation you can smooth out textures as never before, wich will lower fps. This bench is not an accurate comparision of how dx9, 10, and 11 runs fps wise since they do not use to the same 'frames' so to speak. What you can see is how much better dx11 looks and runs (smoothness wise ) compared to dx9, and 10 - but ofc at a fps cost. Seems alot of people are under the impression dx11 under all circumstances would equal higher fps, wich isn't really the truth and this bench is a perfect example. DX11 is basically a more powerful program with more things to do innit, and thats exactly what you see in this demo - more things innit wich makes the IQ this good, but at the cost of fps. :grad:
you're right, the point of implementing tessellation in this benchmark is to show what it can really do. We'll see once Dirt 2 hits stores, that should be the first DX11 game out right?
I've switched off tessellation in DX 11. The performance seems to be equal to DX 10 in that case. Actually the performance is a bit better than DX 10, but nothing to write home about.
if you guys want more DX11 goodies to play with (especially those dx11 programs you've seen on youtube), download the directx aug 2009 sdk, there're some small demos that demonstrate tessellation and the like
hey this demo runs smooth on my GTX260 the only thing i haven't got is the tessellation crap thing but thats not enough to make me buy a new graphic card sh!t, don't get me wrong am a big ATI fan its just i don't get the whole dx11 thing when some of the best looking games to date are directx9 still and the idea of me buying two more monitors for gaming ATI pleeeese that aint going to cut it. scores on my current rig are FPS:47.9 scores:1206 win7 64bit build 7100, every thing stock no over clocks Nvidia driver 191.07WHQL
No, BattleForge has already been patched DX11. It was the first one. They also use it to bump the IQ, gives it slow down for me.
