SLI Scaling: Can Three GeForce GTX 760s Beat Two 780s? http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/geforce-gtx-760-vs-780-sli,review-32851.html
Honestly m8, going 3way sli with 760's would be the worst decision you ever made. Youre playing at 1080p, so what do you need all that power for anyways?
tbh shadow warrior with mirrors sometimes uses all my x2 760 power, as does bf4 levolution, and tomb raider, i could go on. with PhysX games i currently need to disable sli and run a dedi, i could get a titan black but it's not that much faster than x2 760s i kid you not.
i know and understand, i have even one looked out, look at the stock boost: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-...-1202mhz-boost-1281mhz-cores-640-hdmi-dvi-d-s but with 3 760s i could have more PhysX power for £100 more and in some games very nice 3-way sli scaling.
Well, not with that motherboard im affraid - it only supports 2way sli. But you could still use a seperate gpu for physx in your 2nd pcie 16 slot, so you could still use a 750 ti as dedicated physx Card But if you decide to do so, then you should choose a 750 ti with a blower cooler (so that the hot air gets blown out of your case, instead of getting dumped inside the case), as your 760's will get cooked otherwise.
ok i made my second big boo boo, first was thinking 760 had same shader count as 670, second that i somehow imagined my mobo had 3 pcie lanes . well cheers for clearing that up. so yeah, that changes things
It does indeed change Things If i were you (and if you badly want to use physx), id get a single 980, and keep one of you 760 Cards as dedicated physx Card, and then sell the other 760 Aka no sli, but much better performance in games with physx.
Hmm, if we assume that 980 will have at least the same amount of power as a 780 ti, then it would have at least the same amount of power as your 760 sli setup. So if you choose a version with custom cooler on, then youd most likely be able to clock it nearly as high as a classified, but it would be much cheaper. Evga 980 sc acx for instance, or msi 980 gaming with twin frozr would probably be the Cards id look at You also have to remember that most reviews today test at 1440p - when you run at 1080p, you wont need nearly as much gpu power, so id suspect that a single 980 would be more than sufficient
Yes and no - all reviews have shown that the titan Blacks vrm is COOKING due to lack of cooling... aka gonna have a very short lifespan due to it. But sure, i would have LOVED 6gb versions of 780 ti - would have future proofed me a whooole lot
