Here's a great idea: How about you two just don't respond to each other anymore.

    So... when's Steamroller due?

Why should I buy one? Just because you think I should have the fastest system around.....? Man you must lead a sheltered life. Some people have other priorities in life and I'm one of those people.....

My PC's (all 3 of them) do exactly what I need them to do, I don't feel any need to upgrade.

    Anyway stick to the topic.

If you don't have anything worth adding to this topic (other than "it sucks") then leave the thread.

state your cases with benchmarks like I did, no need to insult one another

Wow, it appears I missed out on a lot going in this thread. Its all been covered but I will just say this. Those of you here that continue to bash Piledriver fail to realize its everyday desktop performance potential. Gaming isn't the end all, be all. For an overall fast end-user experience, Piledriver is a win and especially at its price. I mean $139.99 for the FX-6300? That is a steal for what you get. Its a solid improvement over Bulldozer and AMD delivered on their promise of the overall performance increase.

Even Hilbert said it was a great overall experience and it offered a quick and snappy overall performance. What more do you non believers need? The Intel crowd will never be convinced of anything.

and this guy is a bonehead. Get a grip and post when you have something worthwhile to contribute.

^ Yes! Thank you for posting those links. Somehow I still think that won't convince any of the Intel bible beaters.

You have nothing constructive to contribute and just offer insults. You'd do best to stop it.

LOL, a newbie with 36 posts calling me a noob. How ironic.

I can read, not too sure about you though, since you missed the part where I said FX was behind in gaming benches, and actually FX did perform - just not as well as Intel.

I have at least explained the reasons why I have the opinion I do....what about you?

At least put up some benches like TK said earlier....

    Is that right?

Well if you want to start comparing e-peens then you may as well know I'm an IT Hardware Engineer.....lol

Can we get back OT now?

    Yeah OK...lets do the maths;
    I'm a 7yr member with ~18,000 posts and ~50 people on my friends list. I don't think I've acquired a reputation as a BS artist....(yet).

You are newbie with 36 posts, Can you see where I'm going with this?

Btw most people are intelligent and can decide for themselves.... the benchmarks are all around the net...they don't have to listen to me?

    Or you either.

People just don't see the big picture. If I didn't build this rig I have now, I'd be looking at the FX 8350 no issue. For the price/perf, it would do everything I'd need it to do.

People don't realize when they buy cpu's like even I have, we won't be using it fully at all.

I think the major reason I updated was so I was futureproof with Pcie 3.0. Other than that it didn't matter much.

People just look at benches and go, wow it's so much faster! Yet if you put them behind both machines OC'd to the max, people notice very little difference in performance.

Also comments like, "if you can't afford Intel you shouldn't be buying a computer." are so childish it makes me cringe in disgust. There is nothing wrong with AMD CPU's for gaming at 1080p. Not in the slightest. The only people that would benefit from high end extreme intel cpu's, are those that game well beyond 1080p, and even beyond 4k.

But that is a VERY small percentage right now.
