Dual cores are great for mainly multi tasking. For instance, you could encode some video while fragging it up in CSS or BF2 for example. And for games that take advantage of them they offer a performance boost, by having 2 cores to process the games data. While I wouldn't say that you need a dual core they are definatly nice to have. And was pointed out because it is and upgrade for you that will make your system better overall. If you had a dual core I'd bump you up to an 8/10
prices for Dual cores have not fallen at all in the UK yet. Im was hoping they would soon, but when I dont know.
Give it about 2-3 more weeks. The dual core AMD X2's (not opterons) will see a significant price drop when conroe is officially on the market.

For v98_mx Ill give you 7.5 put another gtx and a dual core processor when prices come down. And you will be good to go.

lol...crazy like a fox That man knows what he's doing. IMO phrozin is hands down the best OCer/tweaker we have here on Guru.......I think he's getting upset that someone else is sitting in his throne at the top....lol.....
6.5/10 You Oced the Cpu pretty nicely, and 16 pipes on the GTO. But that doesent change the fact that the Intel P4 is not a great gaming processor.
ya, thats why im going to get a Pentium D 805 soon... overclock to 4ghz hopefully Pentium 4 775 prescotts overclock like kings
mobo doesnt support >.< im not saying my mobo sucks.. it just doenst support and i dont really need a conroe for gaming... my graphics card will be the bottleneck in the game, if i manage to overclock to P-D to 4ghz... thats lucky but then i will get like 3fps more... i could always sell my processor right now for 120$ on ebay... it sells new for 150$ on newegg... my mobo is the best mobo imo for overclocking afiak the processor wont be the bottleneck in a long time, at least not untill extreme dx10 cards come out

thx but... one question... how is my mobo mediocre? its the main reson i got high overclock on ram and cpu i agree my ram isnt that great but... still overclocked pretty high is it really that huge of a need to have sm3 and hdr right now? with the cards nowadays, i think it would lower fps alot, hdr will. do u think i should get a P-D 805?
No I don't think so. His GPU is from last generation, it's a single core, the pentium 4 line was never good to begin with, he has value ram and onboard audio I think it was a fair rating. It's OK to dissagree, I never said I was the definitave answer. It's my opinoin of his system, he asked and asked that people be honest. And I was. I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad about their system. Sheesh look at the cake for crying out loud....
