No one is saying you have to buy these cards TK. Not. a. single. person. Hell, with one 580, I'm questioning moving up too.

    GPU:
    GALAX 970/ASUS 970
    GTX280 - $649
    GTX295 - $499
    GTX480 - $499
    GTX580 - $499
    GTX680 - $549
    GTX780 - $749 if pricing doesn’t change.

You can’t think its right that two GK104 cards in SLI will cost someone more than what you paid for both of your dual GPU’s

If GK104 competes with 7970 and is priced the same, there is little reason for either to do anything drastic with pricing other than a few quid here and there.

I'd expect the next gen console games to be DX11 at least, since all the current video hardware is DX11.

Yeah yeah, they guy single handedly designed every transistor and placed them by hand on every GPU, whilst not telling anybody else what he was doing or how it did it.

Everyone else on AMDs payroll were just there to make this guy his coffee on demand.

    AMD ARE DOOMED!!!

There is one leak saying PHK managed to OC GK104 "680gtx" to 1200mhz and 7970 needs 1350mhz to catchup and own again..

    http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2536673&postcount=179

    Idk nothing special if true:p

Imo those numbers should be default freq. for these 28nm "high-end" gpus, then it would be a worthy upgrade from current high-end 40nm gpus :)

Apparently 7970 is 25% slower then 680, and needs 1200MHz to catch up with stock 680.

    (I say apparently because it's a leak FWIW, and unlike S†v0r - I don't speak Chinese :))

If this is true, then it looks like both are heavily underclocked, either to help promote the eco friendly image which might bring them some financial rewards, or both AMD and Nvidia are still not 100% sure how those clocks will hold up in the long term.

25% over a stock 7970 would be more like it though, would also bring the 7970/50 price down, also makes me want a 670 card that is as fast as a stock 7970, but the same price as a 7950.

I didn't quote your leak WTH

We may not speak Chinese, but we can read... Indo-Arabic numbers,
and 1350MHz gets mentioned exactly zero times in your leak

All your leak claims is that PHK OC-ed 680 1.2GHz ultra-casual

You mixed leak info + some random guy reaching + added your own "catchup and own again"

    it's full-screen AA

there's some blurring on the edges, maybe even on the textures,
though we cant say how bad it is without looking at the whole image

color changes could be due to tonemaping, gamma or whatnot in config file (FXAAA_Inject.h)

if only TheHunter was with us... he was our greatest asset in driver-department/image-quality-analysis

Its the latest tech, thats how it goes mate, just like the 8800 which cost a small fortune at time of release, personally if there is a flagship model being released(780) say at the end of the year and a possible Dual in early 2013 which will be similar priced as what we have traditionally seen,i think the 680 at that price you have said is a waste and well overpriced(same as always)id rather wait for something quite a bit more powerful for similar cash and only 6-9 months ways.

It all boils down to how long your willing to wait, wether you want it now or later...as Obi Wan said....Patients!

Edit....Although the price of the 295's were $499 in the US over here in the Uk i paid £400 each which is alot more than $499,i also paid for 2xdual pcb 295's(which were ok but **** tbh) and 2xsingle pcb's(which are great) so i bought 4x 295's GTX's in total.

Was it good....?yes...was it a waste of money?....yes.....would i do the same thing again regarding gpu's?.....no.
