Click on SETUP.EXE and let the installer begin, it checks your system and tells you what version of each and every file you already have and gives you the option to upgrade any individual one you want.

    Tested quickly the cat.8.10.

But no fancontrol for me(didn't needed anyway).
And so far no bug (3d clocks)at startup (looked with gpu-z).

That's what I also thought at first, when just installed this driver the temp of the card was stable at a good 54°C in 2D, ... until I rebooted and the temps rocketed to 78° again !

I'm not seeing fan control either. Is it only 4xxx series or is it in a weird place?

I don't know if it's a 4xxx specific feature or not but this is where it appears in CCC.

    Mmm, 524% GPU activity! :p

(Btw, it's only this hot at idle because I've just been testing a few things with fans and evidently the current configuration is not ideal ;))

just came my 4870 1GB. Installed these drivers along with the card 5 min ago. So far everything like clockwork. did a little fan adjustments by setting fan at idle to 38%. idle temps 46 celcius. Driver working perfect so far. At 1650*1080/Gamer/NoAA went from 25.5 average fps with my previous GTS 512 to 34.5. More than 30% percent increase in performance -> not bad!!

Officialy ATI user for the first time after 5 years with nvidia

Its is only that big because it contains both X86 and X64 bit drivers, and all related software such as HD Audio drivers, Microsoft C++, Avivo, and Hydravision.

Turn your fan up. Also that is a well known bug. Simply open a 3D program such as a game, then exit and it will read the correct numbers from the gpu.

in TF2. At 1680x1050 with everything maxed out, 8XMSAA, 16xAF, HDR on. Is 40fps minimum a good fps Im getting over 100fps in most parts but when in a large scale battle with 30+ people Im getting 40fps. Is this ok for my card and system or should I be getting more.

Yep, I know - I was just testing settings. Normally I leave the fan on auto but I was wondering what the lowest possible % I could use to have the temperature fairly sensible without having the card sound like a hair-dryer.

Even though I always wait until the final version is released, I'd love to give these a try.

It's just too tempting, AMD realising their mistake with the fan settings? OMFG!

    Must.. resist...

It is normal, sometimes it is lag or cpu related. TF2 has limited dual core support.

    I love TF2 !!!

Happens to everyone I think . It's because TF2 is largely CPU bound. Even if you lowered the res you'd probably get the same FPS.
