Nice. The landscape and those mass battles really bring something new to the series. Hate to say it, but well done Ubisoft (Montreal). MaxPayne3 and AC3 - so far this year isnt as bleak as i thought it would be
That part where he parkoured through that house was insane, they really seem to have upped the pace, which is a good thing!
Yeah, this looks better than Skyrim...so if skyrim was GOTY then this should be... They let you use your environment alot better than Skyrim too....going up trees....climbing sides of mountains..you actually sink while walking in snow.. Must Git!!

GOTY for proposing the same gameplay over and over again since the first AC? Jumping between trees and killing deers doesn't make it GOTY, imo. AI looks the same, kung fu movie style, with enemies waiting for their turn, animations and finishing moves are too much scripted, graphically is average. They're good to recreate the historical context and the locations, but it's imperative that they change the gameplay and, most of all, the stealth approach.
True. I played through AC1 again lately and noticed how harsh consequences can become if one doesnt stick to a stealthy approach. Had to kinda relearn it because AC2 and later titles dont really enforce it anymore. AC3 should be like AC1 again in that regard.
^ Well, you don't want much! Honestly, I think it's exactly the opposite of what you said. In AC1 missions you were completely free to approach them, consequences may've been harsh, but it depended on your abilities (i.e. parry and counter attack can kill an army ), and often every stealth mission resulted in a bloodbath, easy to achieve. In the sequels there were limitations for the accomplishment of the mission, for example if you get spotted you fail your assignment and other things like that, but basically, by playing AC, I never felt to be too much stealthy, also because it was very easy to win a fight.
You sure? I think you've forgotten how AC1 was back then. 'easy to kill' - until you bumped into a crusader and then get chased about the city by him & archers shooting you from rooftops. There were no shops in AC1 so good luck getting new throwing knifes from ppl's backpacks while being pursued by guards. And climbing up while being chased was also a LOT harder in AC1 because the climbing speed was very limited. In AC2 & later titles its all far easier, you can hide in ANY crowd (not just monks), climbing was faster and there are more distance weapons (pistol, crossbow).
Mmmh... Maybe my memories are a bit foggy,... It's true that in the first AC you didn't have all the aids from shops and from mid-long range weapons, but I clearly remember that winning a fight was just a matter of continuous parry and counter attack. Only crusaders were harder to kill because they blocked your attacks better. The real issue was that there was too much freedom, by approaching a mission: yes, you had maps and alternative routes to get to your target but often they were useless because you were able to kill everyone carelessly. Oh, and side quests were soooooo repetitive... Regarding the climbing thing and chases I totally agree, it was harder.
Nice, got this in my list....Looking foward to this one, just dont see how they will tie up the character with Edmon...
I said ACR would be the last Ubisoft product I would ever buy. Goddamn you Ubi for making me into a liar.
