How does the Zalman CNPS9500LED-CU compare with the Thermaltake Big Typhoon?

I think the Big Typhoon is better.

The Typhoon cools the CPU better? I've heard the CNPS9500 cools the mainboard very well..

How much better is the typhoon, if any?

It does indeed. The Zalman's "flared flower" design allows a lot of air to reach motherboard components through its fins and its fan sits closer to the mobo than the Typhoon's. That being said I don't think there is a significant difference in CPU cooling efficiency between these two models.

May i just say that i've had only **** from Thermaltake, and Zalman's products are of far better quality. I would go with Zalman.

I say go with the thermaltake, on newegg, the thermaltake is about $10 cheaper. Also, if you buy zalman, you will kill off the future of korea. You know what I mean, " Ah, rook(look), Fathah(father), I have vey(very) gosu cooring(cooling)! I pray(play) stahcraf(starcraft) and ahn(own) chobos at cybuh(cyber) cafe!".

That has to be the dumbest thing i've ever heard on these boards

No matter how dumb it is, computer games are stealing lives from South Koreans. If i'm not mistaken, a dude literally died playing games for days without stop.

Yeah that's true. And it was from playing a horrible game as well..

so what's that got to do with zalman and thermaltake performance?

I am simply stating that Zalman is less widely used as it is a very common brand to South Korea. Thermaltake is used more, therefore you should be safer getting
a big typhoon(according to what i have heard).

Very very similar performance between the Big Typhoon and the 9500. The BT cools the cpu a bit better and the 9500 keeps the ambient temps down a bit more. In both cases I must emphisise that it is only a tiny bit max of about 2 degrees difference. I have the BT but i am sure you will be happy with either.

I'd go with the cheapest model. I've got a zalman 9500 and I really like it. But then again, you will like the typhoon too :)

Not sure how big the BT is but the 9500 is huge, so get the dimensions down and see if it can fit in your case before you get it.

BT is even more huge than the 9500.
    Believe me.

Anyway, I have the 9500, it rocks! It dropped my load temps from 52 to 42!! =O

Despite my name.. I'll go with the Zalman. I have the typhoon, it cools my CPU very well, But my motherboard is very hot and i think the Zalman with help with that a lot while still cooling my CPU very well..
