    Any comparisons between these and the Xtreme-G 84.20?

    Which has the better scores overall?

    Well they are usally set for performance-so of course theywould be faster-set them for quality like other modified drivers are and you might not see such a performance increase

    These drivers are set for performance in the settings and the lod bias is +.1 and I still lost fps to the xg and stock. Stock gives me the highest fps of all, z-tweak has highest IQ, and xg is right in between. Curse me if I'm wrong, I'm a man I can take it.

    Do these drivers support running the 7900 GTX 512's in SLI????

    I was told by a tech guy at BFG that there are no drivers out supporting these cards in SLI and that they were waiting on some new ones.

    uninstalled them quickly and rolled back to Xtreme G 84.20.
    Reason ? AA disabled in HL² ! Horrible graphics with Z-tweaked :puke2:

    Then it must be no, but simply change some values from the 7900GTX and the 7800GTX SLi. Use a mix, then it should work.

    Forceware 84.20:

    3DMark 01 - 16181

    Aquamark 3 - 51066

    3DMark 03 - 7733

    Xtreme-G 84.20 v2:

    3DMark 01 - 16199

    Aquamark 3 - 51171

    3DMark 03 - 7724

    I'm sticking with the Xtream-G.They just seem smoother!

    Looking at the benches used in your tests you're not using the drivers hard enough, apart from AQ3, where are your graphics intensive benches?? 3DMark05 and '06??

    I tried a ZTweaked once before but decided that the loss of IQ for the speed gained wasn't for me, also the XG's weren't that much more impressive ...... not to put any of the modders down at all, but it is a pay off imho, sacrifice IQ for speed or speed for IQ, there is not a "better" driver in reality, it's a trade off, it depends what you're looking to enhance that determines choice.

    They way you make it look, you compared the nVidia drivers to the XG drivers. What about the ZTweak 84.20s?

    You're right wolf68k, I am!

    I've compared the best two versions of 84.20s.

    The Z-Tweak is a no go cos they aren't much good anyway.Reducing the graphics quality to raise scores is lame!

    And Billabong thank you for your comments.Yes I haven't really stressed the drivers with what you mentioned,not really had the time but will tomorrow.I had the Nvidia 84.20s on my system until I installed the Extreme-G and the latter still seems smoother regardless of scores.

    I actually got the highest fps and the best IQ out of the XG's. No offense Zeppher, but dont quit your day job, leave the tweaking to folks with absolutly no life...

    these seem really good to me. not really concerned with IQ on this rig. performance is mi main concern and these have great performance.

    @daz2712
    I've tried both the nVidia 84.20 and XG 84.20s. The surprise to me was that I worse performance with the XGs.

    I don't have a problem with Z's 84.12 drivers peformance or IQ although I'll admit I'm not 100% sure to look for but from what I have seen I haven't seen any difference between them or any other driver I've used.

    I haven't tried Z's 84.20 yet but I plan to, soon.

    Oh and my point before was to focus where you did, on the performance. All you did was a compare the performance between those 2. If that's all ou're going to show then be fair and compare Z's drivers as well.

    But to be like you, atleast until I get around to testing Z's 84.20.
    Bold numbers are the highest scores
    nVidia 82.12
    3DMark03=9639
    3DMark05=4308
    3DMark06=1990
    3DMark01=17642
    Aqumark3=52,537 (GFX 8034)
    NBench3=2739
    GLExcess=not run correctly

    nVidia 84.12
    3DMark03=9684
    3DMark05=4267
    3DMark06=2028
    3DMark01=17600
    Aqumark3=52,381 (GFX 7950)
    NBench3=2643
    GLExcess=20148
    NOTE: 2-3 BSODs with these drivers

    nVidia 84.20
    3DMark03=9659
    3DMark05=4303
    3DMark06=2027
    3DMark01=17676
    Aqumark3=52,045 (GFX 7881)
    NBench3=2647
    GLExcess=19895

    XG 84.20
    3DMark03=9612
    3DMark05=4297
    3DMark06=2028 {note that it does tie with nVidia 84.12}
    3DMark01=17597
    Aqumark3=52,135 (GFX 7887)
    NBench3=2650
    GLExcess=19890

    I'm not going to include Z's 84.12 drivers just yet...for one thing I'm not completely done running the benches. When I run the benches on Z's 84.20 drivers I'll post both results.

    hahahahaha. Classic....keep em coming. :p

    Very well said, I wish more people understood this.

    If you understand what these drivers where created for (i.e. to increase performance for people who need better fps more than better IQ) and read Billabongs quote above, you will see how "lame" your comment is. ;)

    Thanks for the feedback guys.....better get back to that day job now. :p

    If you have the time bench the Z-tweaked with performance settings-then change them to quality(like the other drivers you have already benched)and then compare the results-I don't think you'll find much of a difference from the Nvidia or XG's

    All i care about is smooth, the more smooth the more kills.
    Single player games might be good for max IQ.
    But as he stated before this is not for IQ but pure speed.
    Dont like it then stick to whatever drivers you prefer.

    Zepher,

    I think you should put up a description about your driver that, it's a "Performance" driver so that those people would not simply quoting statement likes " Reducing the graphics quality to raise scores is lame!" in the future!

    It just make me laugh at those "lame" people coz they simply jump to the conclusion without fully understand that this is modded for better Performance!

    So far:

    84.12 (Z-Tweakd)
    3DMark '03 : 15690
    3DMark '05 : 6703

    84.20 (Z-Tweakd)
    3DMark '03 : 15556
    3DMark '05 : 6668
    (almost the same scores with 84.20 original)

    84.21 WHQL
    3DMark '03 : 15549
    3DMark '05 : 6684

    Should I go back to 84.12 ?!
