  1. Thanks for all the imput, 70% of you fellow gurus acctaully have something intelligent to say about this topic, rather then the other 30% which still persist in childish behaviour and slandering other people to insite conflict.

I like what you are saying blue, its very true. Those countrys "where" selfsataning until outsiders came. Africa could have been a extremely wealthy country, riveling that of america and the UK. Africa had HUGE! gold reserves and diamonds, but foriengers came and took that away...which i find!!! * words cant explain the rage *

I useto live in port morsbie ( papua new guinea ) and even then and now they still have small communites that live happy and healthy lives...most havnt even seen a white person. They know when to harvest food, how to care forthe land etc etc......thats what our civilisation should be like...not this " life " that been created for all of us.

Sadly, greed has controbuted i believe to 95% of all the porblems on earth. Reall think about how people benifit from war, climate change...everything, abasalutly everything..disgusting.

If i could, id give up[ this life and move back to PNG and live the way the tribal people do, but unfortunatly...like most of us this western life style has trapped us.

unfortunately people always aim at what they miss, I went to Cuba and saw that many of them looked at our european lifestyle as a goal to reach, I looked at them and noticed how depressed we are.

if you listen to the media, the world is always on the brink of disaster; terrorism (or freedom fighting!!), global warming, asteroids, war, famine, aliens, religion.

it's all bollocks, the world is fine, it's lasted 4.2 billion years and nothing has happened. the world's biggest problem is Humanity, wrecking things and eachother. the world was here long before us, and it'll be here long after we've gone.

it's all fine and well blaming the septics for their warmongering ways, but it was britain before them, france before that, romans, greeks, egyptian, byzantines, vikings......... and it'll be china and north korea after.

hey hey about africa you guys are totally off..

fine europeans conquered controlled and what not.. but then most were granted independence and remained ****holes..

and im sorry, no useless crying will never deny the facts.. that the only reason for african being a dump is the african people..

im seriously pissed off with people who stay saying garbage.. to prove the point i live in a country that was under many dominions and for 200 years was under british imperial rule, when they left we didnt start shooting and killing each other, we didnt leave the countries economy in the hands of foreigners, we didnt have billions worth of natural resources to rely on but however this countries economy grew, its people became intelligent and has managed to enter the euro zone.

if malta had a quarter of what any african nation received in benefits per person we would be n1

well I think the world in general is like little bits of black against a large background of white and the eye has a tendency to focus on the little black bits and the mind forgets the white background. I don't really see the proportion between the two changing much over time, I just see more of both white and black as the population grows and information/communication improves...so I'm basically optimistic about it all. The worst thing I see is greed and Darwinian economics whereby only the rich get richer...and short term individual goals take precedence over long term community goals.

the world is bad because we're bad and the few good people are just too few
and powerless, just as women are in higher number than men in this planet, the bad is alot more than the good and so everyone perceives the world as a bad place. if you think this world is a bad place then you're a good person, a bad guy would be happy in the state his in.

i recon the world without us ruining it would've been a heaven, we only got ourself to blame. imho. ;)

"Living in africa - Have you ever wondered what it would be like to grow up in Africa"

Thats an interesting one. No, i haven't ever wondered. No need to since i did grow up in africa. (Zim and SA)

Yep, we had droughts all the time.
I know of the hardships that face a person growing up/living in africa. But i am talking of the middle to upper class here. Anyone who did actually grow up in africa would be quick to tell you that in their heart they would rather be back in that beautiful continent. Its wild and Alive. Its kinda like that movie 'blood diamond' it was called, its hard to explain, but thats a start. you know the part where he talks about the red sand in our blood...bah you wouldn't /couldn't understand, its literally like talking to a robot. That must be such a useful skill in life, to be so distant....not.

The temperature..wtf? we're comparing it to the UK here, think about it.

John, while I do agree with people making their own destiny, europe has to take a bit of responsibility. People aren't given the freedom to progress. If a state wishes to be socialist, some "countries" are up in arms. Alot of the indians that came over to the west indies from india were either kidnapped or forced to come.
To retain wealth, the standard set by the europeans keep their insider in former countries. People don't blame the europeans per se. Its the governments that are being called into questioned.

depends where in the world you live............take the usa for example, the dollar to anyone outside the usa is worthless, they have no free health care, people are in fact getting poorer there, they are in debt , some say bankrupt, world banks only keep lending them money so as they can spend it on european /asian goods.........its tough for americans right now the empire is going down the pan just like it did with us british, only we lasted 300 years at the top lol......

europeass economy has now taken over that of the united stated for the first time since ww2........china will be the next super power within 20 years. so whats all this got to do with people and the world ????????/well like i said it depends where you live, if you live in the richest parts of europe then yes its all great.......if you are a struggling super power( i use the word super power with a grin, because there is no such thing anymore in a global world), then tho's people will struggle.

as i see it the world will break into four massive super states , thats china with russia/ europe/ india and the usa...........but i think the usa are going to be left behind, who they going to team up with i don't know, as briton will have to go with europe. thats where most of our trade is.........

    am i happy.........................you betch yer

Did I say that? I said if you want a life get out of the UK, I never said move to an African country, but let me guess you are one of these people who say the same crap everytime...

Oooh you are moaning about your life how do you think people in Africa are doing?

It's the same all the time, "why throw that bit of food away when people in Africa would kill for it".

Why do you need to twist what I say to make me look thick? maybe you should read what I wrote properly, or wait, you're saying because those countries are alot worse that I should be thrilled living in the UK?

You're the tye of person that, when someone moans about a game, you turn around and say, "if you don't like it don't play it" and let me tell you something, it's immature so why don't you stop posting nonsense and post a better reply?

Don't give me that 'did I say that' crap. It is called reading between the lines. There is no twisting of words. You keep saying that you have to get out of the UK to get a life. So I just named 80% of the world you could go to once you are out of the UK. And pointed out that there are not many countries out there in which you would have much luck 'getting a life' if you can't get one in the UK.

You didn't provide any counter-point argument. All you managed to do was personally attack me. Seeing as I am not the topic of the argument it doesn't strengthen your position. You should attack my position on the subject more ferociously rather than my person to really get your point across if you think your argument is logically sound.

The 60 odd million people living in the UK, they don't have a life? No one happy with what they achieved in life has come out of the UK? No one successful has ever come out of the UK?

I don't understand where you get the notion that the rest of the world is any easier to make a life in than the UK? If it is your personal life that is in the dumps at the moment than you have to know that you cannot extrapolate that to the millions of people living around you.

I've fallen on many hard times throughout what has been my short life so far. I've picked myself back up numerous amounts of times too. And I know that even the worst moments of my life are a walk in the park to what some people have had to deal with. I've seen families gutted by deaths. Kids whose most valuable position is a smooth rock. And I know of the hardships that my parents have faced before. I've lived above the poverty line for most of my life and generally things are getting better and better everyday. But I know, families... not just know of but actually KNOW families where the poverty line is above and beyond the sky for them.

Sorry but after experiencing first hand, even if it was for just brief moments, the lives of those that which can barely be considered living I get cheesed off when someone complains of their situation in the same breath as saying they aren't doing anything about it. Complaining should be constructive criticism on your own life by yourself. You should look at what you have, appreciate it, look at what you want, and try to achieve it.

Too many people on this planet cannot control their own fate. And too many who can squander the opportunity.

Its a good thread. As I said before, there are still good people in the world trying to improve things. Things don't fix overnight, but its important to try.
