I have been in trouble with freesync a lot in the past months, it didn't work as espected, it only worked after clean driver installation. I did a lot of try and error, to solve it, like formatting, tons of CRU, and even I changed my complete pc in the proccess. Freesync demo will work only when drivers are recently installed without restart, or when I recently formatted without touching anything, and didn't know why this was like that.

Maybe it's an overall bug, maybe it was only in my hardware configuration, but the problem was the windows "scale" option, I discovered that if I changed it to 150%, 175% or similar freesync does not work, but in 100% and in 200% it works. (Somebody with freesync could test)

I post here, because maybe it solves someone problem, as my head was about to explode.

Make sure you'll have this 2 files set to run as admin (AMD External Events)
This is responsible for FS, also when Updating drivers, make sure to Open Adrenalin then Set FS to OFF and ON in Monitor OSD.
That is because of Windows, some settings are Gone after Updating.
IMOS you need to set things again properly (ON/OFF do the trick for me)
Fury now Vega i can't complain at FreeSync at all :D:p:rolleyes:

Nope... I always desactivate AMD external events, it has nothing to do with freesync.
I have not problem at all, since I put 100% scale or 200% scale in windows. that was the problem. I only said this because maybe it solves others problems as me and someone could test if this is a general bug or only in my hardware configuration.
Could you put monitor scale in 150% in windows monitor configuration and try if freesync works?

Mat from AMD forums said that this one is essential to FS ;)
Personally, i do not recommend to touch those Services at all.

It's not clear what that services do, but in my side it only sucks some CPU, everything works okeys, I don't recommend disabling it too, I do only on my own risk. Reading about the service seems to be related to monitor wake up from sleep, maybe game detection when launching. I don't know as my PC works perfect with it disabled, and I turn on/off with pc on or off, various monitors often and they are deteted correctly and freesync works okey.

You can not try the "maybe bug" i have said?

    But IMO it should work.
Maby try and Turn OFF/ON VSR ?

    PS.
Make sure to go into AMD Forums and ask about it there.

Any option in AMD control panel included VSR, gpu scale, etccc also override display port voltage, does nothing, in my side. Well, I only post here to share that solution. Here in the internet it is.
    Thanks.

If AMD External Events Utility is disabled, Freesync doesn't work at least in my case.
