    I always do. You dont have too but since I've never had an issue with these I always install them. Just download the file and run it. Reboot when it's done.

    It's only for Intel Desktop Boards.

    IntelĀ® Desktop Board DP35DP is the Intel P35

    Thanks for clearing that up.

    Since this is my first install running AHCI,will installing new chipset drivers mess that up?

    With Intel boards from the 3x and 4x series....the second letter, and the numbers denote the chipset. So,...

    DP35DP = P35
    DG31PR = G31
    DX38BT = X38
    DG35EC = G35
    DG33BU = G33

    Older chipsets, like 945, 946, 955, 965, 975 are all denoted by the 3 consecutive numbers in the board name, and the first letter following the 3 consecutive numbers.

    Also remember, G = integrated graphics; P = Performance; X = Extreme

    try the "-overall" command line flag via shortcut or batch file.

    batch file example:
    INF_allOS_9.1.1.1014_PV.exe -overall

    Code:
    -OVERALL
               Updates ALL INF drivers on all available devices
               even if third party drivers are currently installed.
               This flag works in Interactive Mode only.

    Intel chipset software update...

    Will this also work for P45 chipsets? I am not sure if it will work for non-Intel proper Mobos?
