Whatever happened to the XGI V8 Duo, XGI V5 Ultra and the XGI V3 graphics cards? They seemed to have at least some potential but then suddenly i heard/saw nothing about them
The high end looked good on paper, thats all it was. Drivers ended up sucking, and as usual, the dual GPU's did nothing for games.
Their texturing (--> shaders) and caching abilities are very poor or at least they are with the current drivers. And there hasn't been any new driver in 2 or even 3 months now...
Mezkal - pay attention: SGI = Silicon Graphics (the godfather of graphics/OpenGL ) XGI = Extreme Graphics Innovation (or rather Xabre Graphics Inc. ), a previous SIS' graphics division...
XGI has a pretty bad architecture, not efficient as radeons and nvidia. i tot the dual gpus cud push a whooping 30k in 3dmark2k1se, but no it didnt.
