I'm sitting here on my new computer trying to get the display to work properly without the CDROM for my new XFX Geforce 9400 GT (1GB) videocard. I just moved out of my old apartment (4 hours away) and apparently left the CD-ROM there.. So I thought I'd try and install the proper drivers from the Nvidia website.. but unfortunately they dont detect my video card at all. and when I go to my Display settings > Advanced.. it says there is nothing there..

Is there any way to get drivers to work for this thing without the CD?

you bought pentium D extreme but you paid too expensive w/ (800€ or $1000 is very bad).
for what is your gpu? but it isn't good gaming since 2005. if you want gaming then I recommend you buy 9600gt 1gb since 90€ or $110.

    Welcome to Guru3D, DiscoStan. :)

    Try this:

Download both the driver (182.50) and the modded inf for your OS version (XP/Vista, 32-Bit/64-Bit) from here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=143

    Now do the following:
    1. Uninstall your current driver.
    2. Restart and boot into safe mode (F8).
    3. Run Driver Sweeper and maybe even CCleaner.
    4. Restart and boot to the regular desktop.
    5. Decompress the downloaded driver and copy the modded inf into that folder.
    6. Run the setup.exe you can find in that folder.
    7. Restart.

In case you're getting an error message when you try to install the driver, decompress it with a tool like 7-Zip, delete the PhsyX installer from the folder and just start the setup.exe in the decompressed driver folder...
