    Hi all

im getting my xfx 5850 today which is taking over my 8800gt.

I was wondering if it worth it leaving the 8800gt as a physx card

is that even possible to do?
will i get a significant performance increase?

it is possible if you use the ngo physx hack.

its only worth it if you plan to play a lot of physx games (ie. metro2033, mirrors edge, batman aa, etc.)

you will only get a performance increase in physx games and only if you turn on physx (compared to running physx with your cpu).

Ok so ive plugged both cards in and i was wondering if anyone could talk me threw what i have to do to get the 8800gt in as physx card.

it is as easy as installing the ngo hack and off ya go, or is there more to it.
and where is the ngo hack download?

Thanks heaps for that link worked well, however how can I check that my 8800gt is the physx or is it automatically using the 8800 as physx. coz a few things i have read is that it uses the ati card as physx?

if you enabled it in the nvidia control panel it should show HARDWARE physx in the fluidmark benchmark., otherwise it will show SOFTWARE physx (check the screenshots in the thread)

no you have to check if its hardware or either software physx its on top of the screen.
It will show the ati card, as its the primary card, not nvidia one.

then either the physx isnt enabled in the nvidia control panel, or you didnt create a virtual secondary NVIDIA screen and extended it.

Oh ok now i have extended the screen, although it has made my resolution a little weird.

now that it says hardware in fluidmark can i assume that it is using the 8800gt or is it using the 5850
