I'm using 177.72 and everything is working so far with me. IQ is better than the earlier 177.xx

I think u will pass on this set just to wait for the official release scheduled next week (hopefully)...

177.66 is the best set for DMC4 and I confirm that DMC4 performs bad with 177.70-72-73

IQ is much much better than with the 177.66 on texture filtering. Lineage 2 with anisotropic x16 is beautiful now, no more more blurry / fuzzy texture effect

Both 177.70 and 177.73 give me same issue.

If I run a video with VLC I get only sound and if I am not quick enough to close it in time I start getting " Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, has successfully recovered" and after a few seconds a BSOD.

Anyone else has this issue ?

I notice in your profile you have a 8800gtx. I just upgraded from a 8800gtx to a 280 GTX and had exactly the same issues with the latest drivers. On my 8800gtx I just used the 169.38 as these were rock solid. Only now I have this beast can I start using the latest drivers again.

I still have the same framerate drops in DMC4 in DX10 mod than with 177.66, and it's even worse. The game is still easily playable but it's annoying. Looking forward for some improvements there

70 marks more in Vantages GPU score, so not much of an improvement there. WoW, GW, GRID and Assassins Creed run fine with this driver on my Vista X64 with SLI.
Still hoping for a patch making WoW taking more advantage of SLI thou.

177.73 is a fine drivers set but I didn't notice a very big improvement (I was using .70 before). Devil May Cry 4's movies are better though; they lagged a little before, so that sound and video were asynchronized.
AoE3 is as good as ever.

A very nice driver set for my system :) .. performs marginally better than the 177.70's , but more importantly has a very noticeable improvement of Performance AF in my case :) ... keepers for me ... gonna test for some usual bugs now ..

UPDATE : tested with most games , like Crysis , CoD4 , GRiD etc. etc., and seems to work flawless :) am lovin it :)

better than .70 which was a dog for me

The 177.66 was great but the 177.70 made games crash.

The 177.73 is at least as good as the 177.66.

My 3DVantage performance went up slightly but it also did with the 177.70 so I do not use that as a yardstick as much.

What helps me is what overclock is stable.

    I have 631, 1522 and 1062 using precision tune.

gpu score always between 10,000 and 10,200. CPU score went up to 10,300 which was a first.

I just tried these, and they are very slightly faster than the 177.70, which itself was very slightly faster than the 177.66, at least for my system. In general, so far from my humble tests I gained anywhere between one to about three or four frames-per-second in some games, and I lost about one or two frames here and there in Source-based games.

I also noticed that, for me, this driver seems a little faster in terms of response time when I switch resolutions or when I quit a game to come back to the Desktop. I'm not sure exactly if it's more of a placebo effect but it does seem a little more responsive for that.

its an ok driver. Nothing really different in IQ or performance.
