From what I've seen on hwbot today, it looks like 6-core in general is a green light now.. I'll definitely post them all here.. Cant wait to post my i7 980x ES results though.. Way better using the classy..
Man.. Definitely have some great numbers to post here soon! I finally got 3dmark 03 , 05 running at 5.70ghz or 5700mhz.. fun! Also 3dmark 06 at 5520mhz or 5.52ghz.. but that was only using the w3680, not the i7 980x..
Thanks so much! Man, I have to admit the vcore is a little much but the ud7 has OCP issues and usually restarts the computer around 5.50ghz / 5500mhz.. So the fact that I was able to take this chip to 5.70ghz / 5700mhz with this board is awesome! They incorporated a new power feature unlike the classified or rampage series.. It definitely limits my overclockability.. The i7 980x clocks on the classified however are a totally different story.. I just wish those boards supported this chip because I have a good feeling about it.. Because of power issues, this board is supposed to restart at around 5.50ghz / 5500mhz.. I took this proc to 6.0ghz before I even saw the restart power issue.. That means No bsod or any other problems or settings.. just this mobo sadly
hey Bodar, evga has released the Classified SR-2 motherboard now...it's calling you, can you hear it?
yeah http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/17/evga-classified-sr-2-fits-two-980x-cpus-for-24-threads-exemplif/ http://www.evga.com/articles/00537/
Well, that was a fun run yesterday.. Did'nt get anything good.. oh well.. next time. Was trying for 40k on 06 with just 2 5870's.. I may have to ln2 those as well..
Thanks so much man and welcome to the forum!!! Here's one I did.. practicing for that gigabyte overclocking challenge.. I submitted the gpu score for stage 2 but I need a retail cpu for stage 1.. May have to just go buy an i7 980x..
