Free is always good. A friend of mine played that Xenonauts game and he meant he liked it, he was a fan of the original Xcom, so might be worth to pick up for anybody fancying this kind of games.
Xenonauts is good, though playing with the community patch is highly recommended. It's possible that most of its changes have since been patched into the official version, though, as that seemed to be the trend long ago when I played it. It also has good mod support and a good number of mods to choose from if you so desire.
