Microsoft announced the next Xbox (aka Project Scarlet), they are calling it Xbox Series X. They did not announce the price. Q4 2020. Core Features: +Designed to be backwards compatible with Xbox One (games and accessories) +Game Pass on Day one +Physical Disc Drive, All-Digital version presumed to be in works +Internal SSD storage (NVME) +Focus on Low Latency/responsiveness, Variable Refresh Rate. +CPU is based on Zen2 +GPU is based on AMD / RDNA, with 'hardware ray tracing', they say it is twice as powerful as Xbox One X (which is 6 teraflops) which would put it in 12 teraflops range (though they might be factoring in better VRAM etc - for reference 5700XT has 9.75 Tflops) +Aiming for 4K60, 120fps/8K 'possible' +New Controller (similar to current but with Share/Capture buttons) +Shaped like a PC Tower I like my Xbox One X, mainly because of Game Pass, though the disappointing part of it is the push for 4K. I believe Sony lets developers choose 1440P or 1080P on Pro, but for X, Microsoft pushes 4K, so you end up with a lot of 4K games running at 30FPS, which is not ideal for action games. So even though PS4 Pro is weaker than Xbox One X, a lot of games feel smoother. Sounds like Microsoft learned a lesson though with the focus on high-framerate/low-latency.
