I just read Eurogamer ,my takeaway ?Microsoft still hasn't fixed the issue that cause tearing jaged edge etc ! And its ms fault , same issue is present on desktop .I call it synchronicity . msaa is not needed neither is vsync . basicly the os can't keep up with hardware but it try (and this is the problem, every time the os try to keep up with hardware tearing , jagged edge occur .hopefully the option to disable msaa adaptative vsync AF and all non sense is avail .at least now we know why Xbox one doesn't do 1080p .as usual ms didn't fix the synchronicity problem between the os and hardware so dev had to enable ton of useless stuff to fix (something that should have been fixed when 64 bit was born)ya this problem is linked to the same reason why we began using invariant tsc . steam os must be happy , why ? Because its something steam can easily fix .imagine: no more need for aa ,AF vsync etc etc . ya I'm pretty sure steam os will have cured this before ms (ms had 10 years to fix timing and Intel and their ally ended up fixing it (invariant tsc)ms is probably yelling :ITS NOT US oh well , good thing alternative for gamer will emerge within 18 month

Yes, MS disgust me there console is weak and piss.

Yes I use a 55" and 720p looks bloody awful, but I could live with it to at least get a solid 60FPS.

Thing is, yet again, it's not going to be 60FPS, it's going to be, occasionally 60FPS, the rest of the time, somewhere between 20-50.

This 'NEXT GEN' is utter garbage, and the least 'NEXT GEN' of anything I have ever experienced.

What annoy me more than anything, is the fan boys, who just don't stop raving on about how amazing it all is and clearly have no clue how badly they are being ripped off, problem is, there are so many of them, it's how MS are getting away with such UTTER garbage.

I have an X1 and I enjoy it, but there is no getting away from the fact it's a piece of ****.

I had a PS4 as well but I sent that back coz the fan was too loud.

Imo for the ps360 as upscaling for this title and any others going forward is understandable. As for the xb1, its 2014, wipeout on the ps3 runs at 1080p/60fps and is not upscaled as far as im aware and looks far better tahn Titanfall/Ghosts. Uncharted 2/3 again look far better even at 720p, they did all that and at 720p on the ps3s ancient hardware, yet the xb1 and proably the ps4 are going to and are already having a difficult time with 1080p.

This would be acceptable if 1080p was just coming out on the pc/bluray as if it were.. what 2004 again, but its not. As SerotoNiN pointed out, people are all of sudden saying that the rez dont matter and its all about the gameplay, were was that mindset for the PS360, which imo, are the only consoles left that are entitles to that bit of leniency.

I mean MS are delaying the 360 version of Titanfall on the 360 to after the launch of the x1 version. That tells me that the 360 ver is going to be either nerfed intentionally gfx wise or its going to look almost exactly the same.

I could understand if the titles released so far were leaps beyond the ps360 visuals and on-screen assets were triple or more, but they're not.

I feel that the xbox one is not so underpowered as every article likes to exclaim. It has been noted that developers are only, just now, able to take full advantage of the onboard eSRAM. Of course, time will tell if that's the case but for now I'm keeping an open mind and refraining from making statements that the console will not even last half of it's intended lifespan - which, of course, is an asinine notion.

Have folks being seeing large discrepancies in titanfall, pc 1080p vs 792?
I'm getting old now and I'm having a hard time seeing the major differences besides the vastly improved AA being employed.

The thing that gets me is how much more powerful these consoles are over the ones they replace. I thinks it's more the developers are not optimizing games worth a damn anymore. Console games are starting to behave like PC ports.

Why would any game out there run on an HD7850+ GPU @ 720p 30FPS? It seems strange to me, I mean 720p 60FPS or 1080p 30FPS is easy on a GPU of this caliber.

XBone is around a 7770-7790 in power the ps4 is a down clocked 7870.

Ah, right. So no such compromise on the PS4 side?

Not really there has been some BF4 for example was 1600x900 at 60FPS and Assasins Creed 4 was 1080p but only 30FPS.

Also keep in mind PS4 uses GDDR5 (unsure of the speed) XBone uses DDR3 (2133MHz).

Well there's your problem, if you have those tvs in a living room environment (you're on a couch) you won't notice a huge difference between 720p and 1080p (especially on the 32"), the 42" you will a bit more but not as much as 50" and larger, 70" you notice even 1080p, going to wait till 4k tvs and games come out on 4k before i get that large...

Thanks. I'd read it somewhere before just could not recall the speed an did not want to give false information.

Yeah I would not go larger than 55" in 1080. Even then you need to be a ways back drone the screen to keep from noticing pixels.

A few more reasons the Xbox one struggles.

    Xbox One.
    12 CUs AMD GCN 2.0
    768 Shader Cores
    1.23 Tflops

    PS4.
    18 CUs AMD GCN 2.0
    1152 Shader Cores
    1.84 Tflops

It's also rumored that the PS4 has 32 ROPs vs the 16 ROPs of the Xbox One.

It's the 12 instead of 18 CU's that nurf'd the X1... anyone in the GPU-world saw that when specs were leaked...

Along with the other differences outlined above this is also a very good point. You know the DEV's looked at the esRAM and said, "WTF are we supposed to do with that?"

Don't quite see how this would translate into consumers X1's getting 1080p.
