    hi all,

i know this isn't the right place to put this. but there isn't an sub-forum for SiS graphic card.. plus i'm desperate.

    i have a Soltek Xabre 400

searched google for driver but no luck.. Soltek is dead maybe?

so i downloaded a driver from SiS website (filename xabre35753), installed fine, but max. resolution only 1024x768..

    gpu-z says unknown architecture??

what does it mean? and where can i find the original driver for this card?

This is a pretty old card, you got there, blackheart. According to this review (http://translate.google.com/transla...refox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=pRh) they tested it at 1600 x 1200, so it should definitely support those resolutions. Do you use a monitor or a TV as your display?

Did you try this driver already? http://download.cnet.com/XP400A/3000-2108_4-97556.html

I'm going to move your thread into the Nvidia driver section:

Try the drive from the Ecs Xabre 400, it should work http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Do...0-64TD (V1.0)&CategoryID=5&MenuID=84&LanID=0

yeah i guess its pretty old.. i'm setting up a lan to play warcraft/dota with my old buddies :p

anyway, i followed the link you gave me and ended up being redirected to SiS website, so its the same driver as the one i downloaded.

tried this as well but doesn't improve things.

    strange thing is..

when i play the game (warcraft) using driver from SiS website, the image looks great, with all video settings set to high. but it only lasts for a few minutes before the game hangs. this happens even when i downclocked the gpu to 230mhz (original being 250)

when i use driver from ecs, the image looks crappy (kinda jaggy) and feels slow and a little choppy. but it runs normally without hangs though.

    whats up with that..?

A few years ago i had problems with SIS chipset based motherboards and some vga cards. Try to install the SIS AGP (GART) driver
