What's the best way to use x6 46 inch LED t.v's a computer monitor? No gaming, just browsers, WORD,Excel and some database reports. I've got x6 video cables running to the t.v's (50') and was going to use external video USB to HDMI video cards but after the third t.v the picture starts to get lighter and lighter, so I guess since it's USB powered, the 300 watt computer power supply isn't enough. How can I salvage this project and just get it done?? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. What I'm thinking is trying to upgrade the power supply and see if the x5 USB video cards get enough power to add the other cards. Ideas or suggestions?
Buy 2 cheap AMD gfx cards like the 5750 or maybe 5770 that has 3 video outs on each card. ie check that it can support 3 displays. Each of my 5770s has DVI, HDMI and Displayport out that can be used individually. You will need an active 'Displayport to HDMI' converter for the Displayport out and 'DVI to HDMI' converter/cable for the DVI out. You will need a motherboard with 2x full size PCI-E slots and a new PSU. Alternatively, a powered USB hub might fix your current woes.
Considering you can get a cheap 46" for around $600. $3600 for 6 of them isn't that much of a stretch. Especially with people buying fancy single $6000 HDTV's. -scheherazade
Yeah, people think it's bad enough that i use 1 46inch TV for browsing and office work, nevermind 6. Other for displaying things like call stats or sales stats in an actual office, i can't think of any other reason to use 6 TV's.
if i had the room, i would probably go for 3x 42inch TVs from LG if theyre still making the bezel-less TVs. 3 big TVs with no bezels is the way eyefinity/surround vision should be done!
i would go for 3 27inch dell monitors if i had the cashflow at the moment but i got bills to pay maybe april 2011 when the wife goes on holiday to her mums, i might do a sneaky one
In my case it would be too much money jot to even think about getting x3 monitos :S I belive I will upgrade later though into a 120hz 3d monitor !
