I bought a x1950xt and im getting really low frames for a card like this my 3dmark06 score was 5934 and i know people with worse gfx cards with higher scores. I heard it might be because the 7.1 catalysts? is it? My System Amd Athlon 64 x2 4200+ 1 gig ram Sapphire x1950xt OCZ 600W
I don't think that's a bad score for 3DM06, it would be bad if it was 3DM05. As for the 7.1 drivers there is indeed a problem with 3DM05 but I don't know if it applies to 06 as well.
thats my problem a guy with a 7800GT gets better frames with everything on he has AF AA and HDR on and everything on HIGH and I cant even put AA or AF or HDR cause my fps get really low :/ like in the 80;s and he even says he gets 150 fps constantly -.-
He says he gets 150 FPS? In what game and at what res? Is it just his word or have you actually seen this? Sounds boasty to me, a 7800GT is MUCH slower than a 19x0 XT and achieving such high FPS in any game but old ones is unusual even with much faster hardware. Anyway the human eye and brain cannot perceive any difference between 80 FPS and 10,000 FPS so I wouldn't worry.
He has a way better system then me though he has a C2D e6600, Raptor Hardrive, 4 gigs of OCZ Gold Ram, and a 7800GT and the game is Counterstrike Source and i tried put everything higher i lost like 2 fps putting things on max ... volkov said i probably need more ram cause my cpu should run it just fine
conroe @ 3.4?? that would answer that q cpu bottleneck my cpu @ 2.8 gets 6.2k in 3dmark06 irate: argh
"cause my fps get really low :/ like in the 80;s and he even says he gets 150 fps constantly -.-" Oh who. 80FPS. That's really low. Must hurt your eyes... OK, without kidding now. 3Dmark isn't what matters. There are many things that can impact your score, especially if he runs a C2D and you an X2. You're still having some very nice performance. I get 6000-6500 in 3Dmark06. Your score is not terrible. I think it's just another case of hearsay and competition among younger gamers inflating their scores, rigs and FPS to impress you.
Nah his system overall rapes mine he has an Intel e6600 4 gigs of OCZ Gold DDR2 7800GT OCZ GamesXtreme 700W
"I agree. Us old gamers never inflate anything " Nah we don't. We shoot like crap and get fragged by 12 year olds, but we are hardware wise. Oh and we don't use "rape" in all the sentences about one card being better than another Neither do we "mop the floor" with hardware. More seriously, what is your resolution?
now im playing with everything set to max and LCD resolution so things are going pretty well it is my proccesor cause my friend who has an 8800GTS but same processor gets the same frames i do. 80-100
LCD resolution doesn't really tell us what you resolution you use... But I'm glad you are now in peace with your low 80-100 FPS... The CS engine is very CPU dependent and I'm sure that with other games (such as the free FEAR multiplayer that you might want to try) you rig would pull ahead of your friend's 7800GT. Even with a E6600. As Valve moves toward using dual core processor, you may also see a nice boost in CS:S. Personnally, I got tired of CS:S, I mostly play BF2142 when I want a quick multiplayer fix.
Got the same problem First of all hi all Got the same problem. Got a AMD athlon 3500+ with 2gig's ram and a 7900GT 256 mb, But only get like 50fps at the max in source. Normaly it's around 30-40 fps. Playing with that isnt really fun as it cant even keep up with the game... Treid new drivers for the videocard but that didnt help. Couldn't find any new bios/chipset drivers for my mainboard. (Gigabyte GA K8NF-9) Also tried a other videocard from my work (7950GT and 8800GTS) Didn't help also. Thing is my m8 from work got allmost the same stuff , only mainboard and cpu are different (C2D 6500 2.4) and he gets 140/160 fps. (saw it @ his place..) but would the mainboard and processor really be the difference for the big fps drop? Is there anyone that knows a solution for this? Thx in advance for the help/info. Greetz.
