Does anyone know what "Sweet Tea" is? I constantly get asked at McD's (since I work there atm), and a lot of Americans keep trying to order this thing called "Sweet Tea", even all my managers are like ?? We usually try to provide an alternative which we believe could be Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe or even Green Tea with sugar and then add hot water, but that tends not to be it ... or we suggest Nestea instead, which, is still not it. So what is it? Just tea with sugar and then make it cold? or is it something else? I'm starting to get a lil' tired with debating with customers stating that we don't have it even though they insist we do. deltatux
WFT is the internet? Derp missed a smiley... http://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/food/full_menu/beverages/sweet_tea.html Maybe they do something different in Canada eh?
Tea, Lipton, plain. ::: EDIT, Pekoe (see link above). NOTE : The link in the post above indicates Pekoe/Pekoe-black. That is probably true for the cold tea at McDonalds, since it does taste more like Pekoe than Lipton plain. (*The HOT tea variety at McDonalds uses Lipton - I know because you get the tea bag, and it says Lipton right on it*) Heavily sweetened. (grossly so to those of us who don't regularly use sugar) Cold. (with ice cubes, if served from the counter) -scheherazade
So basically just dump Orange Pekoe and just add a sh!t ton of sugar syrup ... is that all? Now I wonder if I can just make it by putting bags of Orange Pekoe, add Iced Coffee Sugar Syrup and then add cold water on top then lol. We seriously don't have this on the menu. deltatux
I might suggest a call from the manager to the regional office. See if they can't get that on the menu due to customer demand.
Thing is that it could just be my location, not sure if this question gets asked a lot at other places because it tends to be just American tourists asking this. Most Canadians including me have never heard of it tbh. deltatux
Wow really weird.. I just opened a can of Arizona Southern Style Sweet Tea... Right before opening up the guru3d forums again..
lol, I'm drinking Almond Bubble Tea atm while we're on the topic of teas when I realized ... WTF is sweet tea lol. Also, I'm reading the US McDonald's website on Sweet Tea and what is "pekoe cut black tea"? Is that something completely different and a key ingredient in said drink?
In the UK at Mcdonalds you sometimes get a semi decent burger let alone tea. Most other countries seem to have a much more extensive menu compared to the UK. I travel to France a lot and they have a much larger choice of pretty much everything. Potato wedges instead of fries ftw.
We use Higgins & Burke⢠Specialty Teas for all our hot teas at my McD's location and they're from real tea bags lol and we get the retail boxes as well: http://www.mother-parkers.com/specialty/specialty_frame_higgins.htm deltatux
I've had homemade Sweet Tea most of my life. It's pretty simple. Make your tea, add lots of sugar and then cool it.
Christmas Tea lol, sounds awesome. Have you noticed how this thread is now all about our favourite type of tea?
lol, no problem on my end, everyone loves Tea no? lol. At least now I know what Sweet Tea is, so I'm going to see if I can improvise should my managers allow me. deltatux
