I have a geforce FX5700 LE 128 MB, and have been looking at an upgrade. I saw this card, ATI AIW X800 XT for only $299 (CDN) and I really want it, but My PSU is so pathetic. I bought the computer at future shop last may, It's from HP. Anyways, this graphics card saus it requires a 300 watt power supply, and when I bought my PC, I didn't think to look at that. Well, if someone can tell whether or the card would run on a 250 watt PSU, please tell me.
you might be able to, I've run a P4 2.4Ghz 5 USB Powered Devices 2 Optical Drives (DVD Burner, DVD Reader) 2 HDDs (80GB, 250GB) nVidia 6800NU a TV Tuner Card 3.5" Floppy Drive in a 265W PSU....I was really lucky, it didnt die on me. of course, once i realized the wattage of my crap PSU, i immediately went out and bought a 450W Coolermaster PSU.
Seriously doubt it. Get a new PS like someone suggested. I've seen some good ones for $40-50 bucks that should power it ok. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023 There you go. $30 after a $10 rebate. Hard to beat that for a 420W. Name brand as well.
my OKIA 600w power supply i got was like 35-40 bucks, it ownz to, just go to ebay and buy one of the black ones, it works in tip-top shape so u should get one of those, its silent to and it has like one 60mm multi-colored fan on it, but i can BARELY hear it
