Hi! I have currently a MSI FX59000XT 128RAM, I have a good opertunity to get a ATI X800PRO 256MB AGP. I wonder if the performance will be any better? And also some sites say that the x800PRO has only 8 pipelines, some say it has 12 and some even 16, so now I'm not really sure!

yes it would be a worthy upgrade, but upgrading to a x800xl or x800xt would be better.

Or if you wanted to stay with nvidia a 6800gt (which performs about the same as a x800xl)

Yes going from a 5900xt to a 9800pro was a major upgrade for me. x800 pro is much faster then that.

thanx for the replies, I can't wait to get her, I know that my friend has a 9800 pro and our pcs are about the same, when I tried NFS UG2 at his place, it rocked lot faster then on my pc, like on max details the game can't even move on my pc and on his one it rocks like hell!

lmao the x800pro will blow you away. I went from a 9700Pro overclocked (385/351 and performed slightly faster than a 9800Pro to a X800XT PE that does 580+/600. I was amazed msotly at the groundbreaking performance on FEAR, Far Cry, Doom 3. You are basically on a speed demon for DirectX 8.1 games. This will be your first DX9 card, and it will blow you away.

    X800 Pro FTW!

Be sure to overclock it... Not doing so would be an injustice to everything that card stands for! It's the tweaker of the ATi bunch, much like the 6800 for nVidia fans.

I wouldnt get that, it only has 18a on the 12v which is 216watts max on the 12v line. If you plan on upgrade for another 2 years then pick up a Enermax or OCZ Powerstream

I dunno yet for the powersupply, that one looked not bad and I love that wattage meter. I haven't tried any psu from thermaltake yet. The one I have right now is like some cheap one that came with my case, I can't take the risk anymore, my rails are not stable already with my fx5K9 and I don't wanna feed that x800 with such bad power, lol! my 12v rail goes under heavy load up to 12.68V and my 5V rail drops to 4.751V. OCZ loox pretty much quality PSU! I guess also the brand is lot more reliable! Almost all good pcs I see have it!

He means 6800GT, but if you're going for the x800pro off ati.com then go fore it.

Finaly, I got the card yesterday :D , I must say, Niiiiiccce, I didn't expect it to run this fast on my pc.

I tried NFS UG2, on my old fx5900xt,
on Medium detail 1024x768 no AA, no AF, couldn't run as fast like with this x800pro at 1280x1024, Max Details, and 4xAA and 16AF.
