SplashData has distributed an annual list of the 25 most common passwords found on the Internet. For the first time since SplashData began compiling its annual list, "password" has lost it...

    Nice)))

Though I have concerns about all of these password managers - what if they are hacked? There's no guarantee it can't happen. Adobe wasn't hacked so heavily before... did it change anything? No.
If SplashID is not hacked yet doesn't mean it won't be tomorrow.
We had RSA's SecureID hacked, we have NSA who has backdoors everywhere...

I am not arguing that such services\software are a good solution for multiple passwords, I just can't accept the risk of them not being totally safe.
That's why not matter how complicated it is I keep all my password (most of them "strong") in the only place unconnected to network - brain

    LOL @ 10 - adobe123

It makes sense for very sensitive passwords. On the other hand, some services are kinda safe. Eg LastPass - yes, their servers got hacked some time ago, however all the container encryption/decryption is done on the client machine, so as long as your master pass is safe, you are safe...

    However there are 2 glitches:
    1. If your computer gets compromised, you're pretty much screwed, as someone can get your master password with a keylogger or other software.
    2. There are auto updates. If you get a malicious update, it may steal your data. It might happen if there was a security hole in your browser's update mechanisms.

You're more likely to get keylogged or phished than someone trying to guess your password for an online account either manually or automated dictionary attack. Most sites have a limit in the number of times you enter your password wrong before they start displaying CAPTCHA.

Someone guessing your security questions is another weak link.

And if you use the same password for every site you go on then there's also the chance that if one site gets attacked then they'd also have access to your other accounts.

What amazes me is the fact that so many people keep all sorts of personal data on a SmartPhone.
Saw one girl paying for coffee in a branch of Starbucks by using NFC ( or at least I think that's what's behind the idea of placing a SmartPhone against the side of a till to pay for goods, anyway.)
Would have liked to give her a bl00dy good shake for being so downright trendy, and naïve with it.

    Yep,

The problem is that it is a tedious task trying to explain that to people who aren't IT savvy. Many of them either don't understand what you are trying to tell them or they simply think you're try to scare them or that you are just plain talking BS.

One can never be to safe.

    The combination is 12345
That is the most stupidest combination I have ever heard in my life the thing an idiot would have on his luggage. lol.

Man talk about craptastic passwords. It is just as bad as user: user Password:password.
