Just as we found out earlier on the release date of this graphics cards , indeed the AMD artificial limits of clocks speeds , power limit and voltages is exactly what was holding back this video cards. Extreme overclock Legend @der8auer proved this by running an unlocked 6900xt Red Devil Ultimate to an insane 3225Mhz on the core on a quick ln2 bench session. Huge thank you to Roman for taking the time to test this and proved what we earlier tought about AMD bad desision to lock down this cards so hard limiting the Core and memory clocks as well as a very low power limit impose as well as voltages.

Head on over to youtube @der8auer channel and see the monster WR fastest core clocks ever achieved on a graphics card , 3225Mhz on a quick liquid nitrogen bench session wish left him wanting more upload_2021-4-21_10-8-1.gif , he will mod the card and add the @elmor evc2 controller to try and reach even higher clocks speed on his next video. Well done and it's a huge achievement. He will share the unlocked Bios later and we will check if it can be flash to other 6900xt video cards as there is a new tool that enable flashing the RX 6xxx video cards under windows , directly and fresh from techpowerup and thanks to W1zzard , newly released AMD VBFlash Tool version 3.15 and it can be found and download here - https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

Thinking about it is just crazy , so crazy to think about it. Who would it tought we would see this kind of clocks on a gpu ever ? Mind boggling actually even thought it was done on a quick liquid nitrogen session , 3225Mhz :D ...

Most interesting is that unlocked bios is floating out there any 6900xt user can now try to push their card even more.

Cool Chispy! I know your interest in this because you're just s crazy an OC'er as der8auer. And not far from where you live there is an LN2 factory to keep you happy :D.

Except the GPU chip used in the Liquid Devil Ultimate is slightly different than other 6900XT cards as it uses the "Navi 21 XTXH" chip which is a special bin with better clock speeds and lower power leakage compared to regular "Navi 21 XT" chips. The BIOS might work with other cards depending on how the BIOS handles a difference device ID than what it expects.
Also, der8auer mentions that the only special difference with this BIOS is that it raises the clock speed limit to 4000MHz, rather than the 3000MHz used on the other 6900XTs. Power limits remain the same.

cool but not THAT exciting as I had thought before watchin the video.

    -80 Celsius
artefacting already at 2880 MHz. It peaked at 3.2GHz and then it crashed
no records were broken other than frequency clock.

The board doesn't have any clock speed cap, which is the reason it was feasible to push it right to 3.225 GHz without changing its VRM.

Thats the way it goes in world of benchmarking. You think previous records ware broken and then game on it? Dont be silly.

Extreme overclocking is just as Dragsters running 1/4 mile strip , you make it go as fast as you can for brief period of time. This is not showing game stable overclock , this is proving where are the limits on this architecture , and dang this amd gpus can go fast :D .

More information related to extreme overclocking amd 6900xt gpus can be found here on my thread at hwbot:

Might be helpful to understand better what we do ...

And how good looking the card is!! I might end up just grabing the 6800XT Liquid Devil, unfortunately the 6900XT Ultimate is out of my rang€..

    Nope...
Common sense is holding back these video cards because not everybody is der8auer..., not everybody has a case with ideal air flow, a great power supply, etc
AMD is not stupid to artificially hold back a card - it's just because a lot of people may be tempted to play with things they don't understand and ruin the cards in a not ideal environment...

Anyway great achievement by der8auer - hail to the king!

FUN FACT: When LN2 overclock for Intel chips is presented here on guru3d a lot of comments are like" Big deal, LN2 o.c. is useless" but when an AMD product is overclocked with LN2 almost everybody so far is like "WOW..."

I suspect that was something to do with Intel fans over the last couple of years seeing the overclocking of Intel CPUs as the one thing to cling onto "Yes, AMD may be faster in production but LOOK at Intel overclocking! IT DOES 6GHZ"

He wants a dragster to go to the supermarket with. If it cant do that, its useless. :D

Only interesting part for me is GPU clock performance scaling. Because when one keeps memory clock same, it is IC which clocks up with GPU.
And such OC may show how big benefits of IC are.

Even if it was game stable, what 'utility' are you talking about when you have to fire up the LN2 kit when you want to play games with it? The moment anyone sees the LN2 kit in the vid thumbnail, they know this is not for gaming. :D
