Damn no Spy's in this wolfenstein that was my fav class:wanker:
Been playing rtcw since the release in 01. So I a bit confused when you said "you played a different rtcw," I think you're thinking of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory which is came out couple years after rtcw. Its a free game you can download and I occasionally play it.
I have never come across a game in which the multiplayer aspect could even come close to the fun that ET was. I'm so sad it died, it was an amazingly fun game. The only problem with it was that the maps were really imbalanced and a few mortars could spawn camp and just ruin the fun.
We really need an ET II, I'll play that endlessly again.
2 new videos
Imo looks much better than first leaked videos.
7 days to go :arnie:
Yes they are better than the last ones, but they are still mediocre
I've always thought of Wolfenstein as a single-player experience. I never really bought into the Enemy Territory side of things which is probably why I didn't enjoy ET:Quake Wars.
Wolfenstein; one game I'm really looking forward to playing...on my own!
I don't think I'd be that dissapointed if the multiplayer/online aspect didn't live up to expectations as long as single player is good
Yup. Looks alright.
Looks good, to preorder or not to preorder, that is the question. :fuse:
Do you think it will be available through steam? I really want this one!! Going to be amazing! Love the videos as well!
Seems Activision or Raven are having some issues with security as it looks like someone leaked or uploaded a copy of the finished build of the game, guess it's inevitable but the actual game wasn't really supposed to be out until later next week for the US region and then a bit afterwards for the EU regions.
(They probably should look into this a bit more as first a MP build leaked and now the entire game.)
Might cause problems for the community as well if people post large spoilers or such but perhaps the reverse is also true with more publicity and other game details being revealed, hard to say, I'm not that knowledgable about this sorta thing.
EDIT: And if it outsells Madden it seems that Raven might refund certain customers.
Most likely. ID seems to be loving digital distribution as of late.
ID is part of Bethesda/Zenimax now though, this is Raven and published by Activision.
Okay first of all, Zenimax is the parent company of Bethesda. They are not the same.
Secondly, it's made by ID as well, just like Quake 4 and ET:QW were. They are still ID games.
Ah I see, didn't know that, thought Bethesda was a small company of Zenimax so I grouped them together as I saw them as nearly the same albeit with Betheda developing games and Zenimax publishing them (US publisher for Bethesda's titles if I remember correctly, they have other branches as well from what I know such as mobile versions of certain games.), didn't know that ID was involved with Wolfenstein either aside from Raven using their "Tech 4" engine for it.
Game is out in the US and some other regions as well from what I've heard, that said Activision has kicked off the team responsible for the MP component which isn't really a good sign as far as the multiplayer portion of the game is concerned. :grin2:
EDIT: IGN review.
EDIT: FileShack mirror for the 1.1 update.
Any word if it will come to Steam?
Anyone got it? Are the graphics any good?
what nvidia drivers are you guys using?
190.56. my copy comes soon! no way am i buying anything through steam unless i am forced 2...
What a bummer. It sounds like they just threw something together to make some quick cash. If the graphics are as bad as described on a console, I think that we PC gamers are going to be sorely disappointed.
I believe you are correct here, id's role with Quake 4, Quake Wars, and now Wolfenstein has been nothing more than IP and engine involvement as far as I know. That's why Rage is such a big deal for id, it's their first real release since Doom 3.
