you can see the difference in the one with the close up of the character. So without comparing it to RTCW, is the single player fun?
Arrived this morning & just finished it on normal difficulty awsome game miles better than RTCW without dought.
From what I've been able to find out, the single player uses Deferred shading, which is why standard AA doesn't work.
played for a while.. Plus = performance is butter smooth, grenades are fantastic, limbs tearing, setting the enemy on fire by shooting a barrell and watching them suffer, story is half-decent, top notch cutscenes, the enemy sounds, entertaining gameplay. Minus = lack of AA, general textures leave a lot to be desired, some of the animations are pretty crap, the usual array of weapons feel slightly weak, compass identical to CALL OF DUTY, your team sounds. so far my score is 7.5/10, the SP seem pretty fun and certainly better than RCTW. WOLF3D though reigns supreme, can't beat perfection. i would gladly give up on Deferred Shading in exchange for some AA.
I would probably give it a solid 8, because the MP actually would be a lot more fun if it didnt have this weird animation lag, even when i had 40 ping. I only tried one server though, so i cant really speak about MP too much, it sounded good on paper anyways. We got some new engine features in DooM 3 when it was patched, maybe we will get similar things in this game, adding AA or fixing the lag in MP. If that animation issue in MP is fixed, it will be great IMO.
Reviews. Ugh. A review is okay, but a flawed system. They are simply opinions, nothing more and nothing less. I find I almost never agree with a review. I may agree with some of the points they make, but ultimately, I prefer to make up my own mind.
it auto downloaded and installed when i first opened MP, so thats a yes. I have no idea what it added if anything.
Because wolfenstien isnt about authenticity but more about killing gazillions of nazis..... Also I hope splash damage or the developers put the MP back to ET levels.
Well they do use authentic WW2 weapons, flags, posters etc. i think its kinda lame. they should have put german voices in there, like they did in the previous wolfenstein. the resistance do have some sort of accent though lol
So you can understand them .. :beam: Funny you should ask cause that was one of my first thought's while playing the first level ..lol Nice game, but it feels like a console port or a 1 size fits all hardware type of game. When navigating the menus an seeing the video options as on/off , low/med/high.. Were's the let me screw the most out of my hardware with custom settings? One second I'm admiring the lovely texture of a cooking pot on a shelf.. then I see a mat on a floor or a door frame and the texture looks flat and so blurred and uninspiring. Sorta blows visually after playing games like stalker, crysis, farcry were you look at a flat texture and it looks so deep you almost fall in ..lol But at least the game play is fun in the brief I've played.. Body parts.. gotta love em' ..w00t. And the find secret/hidden/intel items, I like that as well. Ohh and of coarse kill, Kill, KILLL!!! , who don't like that.. buwahaha.
Actually reviews are pretty accurate to my personal tastes. I usually hate the games I buy that are under 8/10. So I buy pretty much 8+ games.
