Any ideas why performance would be so poor on this game?

2x R9 295x2's - Crossfire on or off, settings even at low...

    LG 34UM95 Curved screen @ 3440x1440.

    Any help appreciated!

The game engine is absolutely dreadful so it's expected.

It gets quite demanding once you go over 1080p resolution...

What gfx settings are you using, MSAA kept at minimum?

Wolfenstein was running fine here at 1080p.

Runs at 50-60 FPS on my LG 34UM95-P (not the curved one) with everything maxed out and AA switched off. The other hardware includes Radeon R9 290X, i7 5820K @ default and 16GB DDR4 @ 2666. The only thing that I dislike is the monitor's input lag. Not quite suited for FPS games.

The engine is quite crap yeah... you could try running this cf profile Lord Lucifer:

Otherwise, if it works crap disable crossfire for the game, play with a single 290X, you should be fine.

AA is super taxing so, I'd say play with 2x/4xAA, otherwise you can use the ultra quality preset, but fiddle around with it if you want (4k/8k shadows.. medium/high screen space reflections etc)..

Sorry Lord Lucifer, but with these system specs, 2 x295 r9, you can't run any game, perhaps with a bit of lucky you can play the original Wolfenstein 3d

@OP - When you say CrossFire on or off, are you creating a profile for the game and disabling Crossfire 100%?

As the 295X2 is in itself a CrossFire card, disabling one of the 295X2s is not enough to disable CrossFire, and the ID Tech 5 engine does not support Multi-GPU

So you'd need to disable all but half of one of the 295X2s, basically giving yourself a 290X

Do it in the games profiles settings of CCC

Further proof that multi GPU setups are a waste of money.

No, it's further proof that they need to update their engine to support multi-GPU, catch up with the majority of other engines

What a .. what's a kind word for stupid? statement.
Multi GPU setups are a necessity for people running immersive setups.
Until you've gamed on a triple 30" pro-grade IPS setup you haven't gamed.
    /pcmasterrace

There's still no crossfire support for wolfenstein new order, I would have been astounded if there was support for old blood.

It's the ID Tech 5 engine that doesn't support multi-GPU, so their games never will either
