With 71.84 only my idle temp increases. Of course that's fine.

Isn't this a little strange ? I installed 71.84 for my XFX 6800GT and, as was expected, my temp went around 10C higher, but only when idle. Under load there's hardly a change. I didn't change the 2d settings, although I must add that I have the Zalman VF700CU cooler.

I installed the 71.84's today too and got the same result. Idle temp is way up but under heavy load, it's about the same as previous driver. I ran 3dmark '05 so I know that had to put some load on the card. When benchmark was done, temp was at about 71C. That is the same temp as idle, weird!!!

My idle temp is around 60C and under load (playing IL-2 Pacific Fighters for some time) and oc'ed at 400/1100 the max. temp is around 65C (logged with Riva Tuner).

Yup same result here, but I confirmed my 3D temps by running the Riva Tuner Hardware monitoring log. No increase in 3D temps. However, it's easy enough reset 2D temps. Just OC to over 400 Mhz in 2D, test, reset back to where it was. Watch the temp drop. Many thanks to those that figured that one out ! :D

whoa.......I have left it at the higher 2D temp and did not have any problems, if that's any consolation.

yea the temp bug is crucial. I sat there and watched my idle temp (57C orginal) go from 70c all the way up to 91c before I uninstalled.

I've been trying for a while to flash my card's BIOS as well. All I know to do is download the latest BIOS and NVFlash, burn each to a CD, and boot form the CD in DOS mode. Do you think you could help me along with how to boot in DOS mode? A helpful site already told me the commands I need to enter, I just need to know how to get to DOS first.

Idle, and load temps are exactly the same as the 66.93 for me.

That's just it.. the Shuttle model I have doesn't have a floppy drive, instead it has a 6-in-1 card reader. Also, the link for the new BIOS you posted is broken. But is it compatible with my PNY as well?
